Default Help, how to tow a 350z???

I need to have my 350z towed but it has the nismo bumper and it is too low for a flatbed. I also don't have a tow hook because the bumper covers the tow hook area.

If i can't get it on a flatbed how do i get my car towed? I know some of you guys have had your cars towed how did you guys do it?

Flatbad. No other option even w/o a body kit.

Could also get one of those car carrier things that generally keeps it flat.

I had a flatbed come get my car but said it was too low.

I also read that the tow hook shouldn't be used by a tow truck?

RWD Sportscar = ALWAYS use a Flatbed.

Do yourself a BIG favor...Spend $40 bucks a year and get AAA PLUS...You can get towed from wherever to wherever (literally...distance is not an issue) as many times a year as you need to for the flat yearly $40 fee. BEST deal in town!

Custom cars of all sorts are transported to and from shows every day. Find a tow truck driver who knows what the hell he is doing.

Just remove your bumper first, it only takes about 15 mins.. Then they shouldnt have any problem getting it up on the flatbed...

AAA plus will tow you 100 miles before you start having to pay by the mile.

I know a flat bed truck driver too.... always good to have friends in low places.

He mostly tows cars for dealerships, and insurance/AAA/highwaypatrol calls... I've rode with him before... he's pretty crafty.

A lot of tow truck drivers won't attempt anything where they might cause damages because (around here at least) the driver is liable for the first $1000 in damage. They would rather just take the next call.

Good point. I never considered the drivers liability for damage.

As a manager of a tow and impound yard I can chime in on this. There is a proper way to tow a vehicle no matter how low the vehicle is. As some have pointed it is all in the way the driver uses his skills and tools ( Blocks of wood ). One of my accounts has a ton of exotics ( Lambo, Vettes, Mazerati, Ferrari's ) and I have one driver who has this to a science. I had a thread where I had a wheel shatter after hit debris and the freeway and I actualy got to see my driver work getting the Z up on the truck. Whatever you happens DO NOT tow the Z on what is called the wheel lift type trucks. The angle that the car will be towed is so high that the Z's exhaust WILL DRAG on the road. It all depends on how skilled the driver is using the flatbed of his truck but like I stated the Z is not meant to be towed by a WHEEL LIFT. I have seen many inexperienced drivers do damage to cars by a wheel lift to the rear of the car and also the tranny and drive axle on rear wheel drive vehicles.

Thanks for everyones help.

I found online a company that specialize in towing lowered, exotic, vintage cars. The truck driver used 4*6 wood to get it onto the flatbed. The tow truck driver that originally came told me my car was too low for him to put on his flatbed.
