and the dipstick may suck. but it is not hard to check. i do it all the time, can take it out and put it in even in the dark. if you have a nice car, LEARN HOW TO KEEP IT NICE SO IT DOESNT TAKE A **** cause you *don't know how* to check the oil. the oil pressure is good, but it doesnt tell you how much oil you have. the dipstick may not be the most accurate but its a better tool than your pressure gauge.

The reason why I brought up the oil pressure is because we have a light and a gauge. If for some reason the light doesn't work keep your eye on the gauge as well.

If you see the oil pressure drop, its not a good sign. lol

i got owned? damn, i missed it. i never said the oil pressure did not "alert" you. i said its not something to go by all the time(but is still good), it is not a oil level gauge. your dipstick, as tough as it may be, is made to check your oil level.

No, this is normal. When the oil is cold, it is thicker, thus oressure will be higher as it is pushed through the lines/engine. You should really wait until the oil warms up and the pressure drops before driving the car hard.

If you're driving along and the pressure suddenly drops to zero, then you're in trouble...

No it means its thinner. But if your rpms are past 2k and your oil pressure drops, then there are serious problems of leakage.
