What do dealers do with the 06 in 2007?
Hey everyone
I was just wondering if any one knew what dealers do with the 06 models they have when the 07’s come out? I found a 05 anniversary model for sale on a dealer lot but it was over 35k so I know the dealers will still have new old cars I was wondering because I want one for graduation in may, and I can afford a new one but the difference doesn’t matter that much to me for the extra money., And since the new one’s are going to be a different motor I was thinking the 06 would be a little less in price but still a new car. And before any one say’s it, I am graduating from college with no student loans and no help from my parents; it took me six years to do it ,and my only debt will be one sweet a$$ Z. Thanks for any info on what they do with them and if anyone has a recommendation of a dealer in the Upstate SC area that would be great to.
Cheers
Kevin

They give em to the homeless, for a tax break
Well, they in general are willing to come close to invoice to rid of them and become a little more willing as the first of the 07s come in, their sticker price will be unchanged but as I mentioned they will bargain.
Am impressed with you being debt free, wish I could claim the same

They will slash the price of the car, longer it sits the lower the price goes... Usally when you see great deals in the paper for one or two cars its usally because the car has been sitting on the lot for a long time and they want to get rid of it... In these cases you can usally get the car for invoice or even below invoice if they get desperate...

That’s exactly what I wanted to hear, except for the Fast n Furious IV comment.
I have never seen the movie, but I was told enough to know I didn’t want to see it. It’s a shame that I mention classic like rendezvous and know one knows what the hell I am talking about, but every one has heard of fast and the furious. Sad I tell ya, just plain sad.
Again thanks for the info

discounts
The dealers are already getting pretty close to invoice.
I just bought a new '06 enthusiast for $28k; sticker was over $31k.
New Z owner, by the way!!! PPW, beautiful car, fun to drive! (I was driving a Yukon before!)
Am now upgrading the audio, and putting in leather seats. Wanted a touring model, but the pickings were pretty slim. Will come out ahead in price after the audio and leather (and probably have better audio and leather, too).

the car still costs what it costs... just because the car is a year old doesnt mean we own it for less. could you get into the hold back? well im sure. but before a dealer loses money the car will sit.

What bull ****? I did the same thing, bought a '05 touring roadster in April of this year for $33,500 plus two sets of free tires at 25K and 50k miles. Sticker price was just slightly north of $40,000. That's close to 20% off sticker. This was in Northern Virginia.
Maybe there aren't many Nissan dealers in Petersburg and you don't negotiate as much, but in NoVa, they want to sell their cars and make room for new arrivals.

and again i call bull****...post your buyers order too...
you buy maybe 10 cars in your life and you are going to tell someone that sells twice that much in one day how the car bussiness is run? LOL nw thats funny!
there isnt that much markup in a z car fella thats how i know you and the other guy are freaking lieing. at most there will be 4k of markup between sticker and invoice and holdback on the most expensive z out there is going to be 1200 max for a total of 5200 in discounts if the dealership sells it at a TRUE BREAK EVEN DEAL... but yet you got 1200 dollars in tire and 7k off of the sticker???? tell those lies to someone else.. i know better... oh and smart guy if you look above the avitar again you will see i dont work in petersburg.. and even so. it doesnt matter if i lived in jackson mississippi. EVERY DEALER PAYS THE SAME FOR THE CARS! (except for destination, the further the state is from the plant it was produced, the higher the destination)
