Default How many high mileage FI's out there?

How many of you guys have turbo'd their Z's at a higher mileage (50k+ miles) and on a stock block? I'm just trying to see how many of you guys had the guts to do it. And dont forget to mention if youre having any complications. Or if the motor did get blown, what mileage did it occur at? Let me know!

Good question, I'm interested too.

I don't have high mileage on my Z, but it does have now 33,000 on a stock block, pushing 9 Lbs, at 425 RWHP. The turbos have been on for 22,000 miles. Jason from MRC Motor Sports car was turboed with an APS at 60,000, and he put about 30-35,000 hard miles on it since, until his accident.

Well, not really high mileage over here but I've got about 11 thousand miles of hard track miles on a stock motor. Still runs strong. Just needs a new clutch.

I guess basically I wanna go turbo. But I'm gonna be on a stock block. I'm just looking for some responses to get my doubts out of the way "for the most part" of turboing my 58k stock block motor. I know that is never guaranteed that it wont blow. But yeah like I said. Just looking at the miles of what you guys have put on.

This should be posted in the forced induction forum. You will get better responses there.

I had stock car.. 100% put TN kit and something went wrong. engine went bye bye on dyno.. then a new engine was put in.. since then i got 3500 miles on it and still runs great.. i don't push it too hard. just every once in a while.. i had a vr4 before this.. so the stock car felt really slow to me.. now its perfect. don't have the low end grunt but i am loving it.

TTed at 39K, currently over 60K, biggest problem is paying for tires.

TT at 30k now I have have 50k stock block without any real problems. If you want to keep the motor stock I would suggest keeping you torque under 400 ft lbs. That's what is killing a lot of motors imho plus bad tunes.
