I bet there are a lot of Z's out there with this problem, b/c after reading this board sounds like similar issues. Valves clicking, clacking etc.....

I wish Nissan would take initiative and post the recall on 2006's

"valves click clacking" will probably be diagnosed by the dealers as "injector noise" about 80% of the time and dismissed. I went through the same thing with my Z, I thought the valves were about to fall out of the car at < 10K miles, but was reassured that it's injectors firing and the car always ran fine.

Do you have the K&N cone filter? I have a JWT cone pop charger and I hear that sound. If I sit in one place and listen closely I can hear an air pressure sound right before I step on the gas as well.

OK, so let me get this straight...

1. You've made modifications to the intake and exhaust on your car.
2. You're hearing a sucking or blowing sound.
3. You haven't looked to see if the modifications you've made could be causing the noise; so
4. You are going to sell the car.

come to find out that my belt that drives the compressor is half gone, chewed up. now i need to find out how long i can drive it like this. so thanks for your wasted post 350Zenphile i mean common were not all smart savvy car guys like you. i just needed help here and if the car is going to give me nothing but problems then i want to somehow half way fix it so i can get a new Z and start fresh, but i do know what I'm doing i have did all my mods myself and know what an intake and an exhaust leak and so on sound like but i never herd this sound before. now knowing that it is minor(i hope) now i can go from here.

I am new to the forum and owning a Z. I bought my first 350Z an '04 with 7000K just over a week ago. The only mod done to the car was the air intake with a K&N cone. I was hearing the exact same noise right after WOT. Sounds like a BOV. Does not impact driving or performance at all - it is just that, and odd noise. Nothing to worry about, anyhoo just this noob's $0.02.

My Z does this TSHH sound too between shifts at 3k rpm and I'll all stock, even down to the air filter. Strange.
