I owned a 04 gto and totaled it. To tell you the truth you can get big gains out of an LS1 motor at a decent price. As far as the styling goes, the car is truely bland. I spent a considerable amont of money on a fiberglass front clip to change the looks plus to shave some weight. That is reason why I get a kick out of people that complain about the weight of the Z. Drive a GTO and you will see a major difference. I love the way my Z handles. As far as power goes, I am true believer if you spend your money on proven mods and have a mechanic/tuner that takes his time and knows what he is doing you can make anything fast. The GTO is not a domestic vehicle, it may have a Pontiac badge but it was built in the Holden plant in Aussie. I am not the type of person who picks on people for what they decide to purchase, so good luck on your new car. Oh some advice if you wait a few months GM will bring rebates like you wouldn't believe.
