Convertable top in motion
Sorry if this is old news ... I don't think I've ever posted here, and didn't search that much.
My neighbor (who works at Nissan) drove home a red 350Z convertable, so I took a quicktime movie of the top moving. Unfortuneately, the roof was locked, so it opened half way, then closed. I then ran out of time on my digicam. (Don't give my neighbor any grief, he just came home from a long trip).
Anyway, you can download it from: http://members.***.net/davokamoto/p3122005.mov
I have a few pics, but I'm out of webspace.

Ive never seen it VERY cool. as a matter of fact thats the first time Ive seen the convertable with the top UP!
oh and for the record, I think the soft top ruins the lines of the car... I love the roof line sloped right into the trunk, and the convertable did not match it.
also isnt that unnussual that the power top doesnt unlock itself? not too familiar with convertables.

Wow, thanks for the pics, and video tivoscool. Awesome. I gotta say though, I don't really like the shape of the car with the soft top either. The roofline is my favorite part of the shape of the car, and it's just gone on the roadster. But, given that I would be driving it 99% of the time with the top down, I think I could probably live with it. I still have a decision to make wether I want to trade in for the roadster or not. I'll probably wait at least a year or two if I do trade up.

The convertible looks destined to be a "chick" car. Listen to the woman's voice in the background
I still love the look with the top down tho...
I want this one. I've got lipstick that would match this car...

Thanks for the pics! We've been waiting a long time to see the convertible with the top up.
Personally, I wish they'd gone with a folding hard top (which we heard was considered at one point).

Has anyone noticed the fuse box by the battery has a slot for power roof, or something like that.
It also looks like it is going to be pretty noisey as it seems to just lay down no attachments maybe just prototype.

Geez..the view from the back made it even more hideous. I am not feeling that at all. The 'vert Z has a little "booty" on it...kind of like the booty I see on the Audi TT. I'm stickin with the coupe all the way.

also, no port window, Im aware its small, and many dont use it. but I do, and without it the car would have the biggest blind spot EVER.

Looks like a TT with the top up.
That's probably why they haven't released a picture with the top up.
Too bad, would love to get the roadster, but the top is really bad. Undecided now. Lot of money. Ask your neighbor what the price range is. And was the car manual or auto???
