I am connsidering buying a 350Z. First of all I plan to drive my car till the wheels fall off. Will I be able to baby this car to 200,000 miles plus? 2nd. Would the new HR motor provide more engine life over the current vq? I want to buy this car and baby it for as long as i can. thanks yall.

I've got nasty old Ford vans at work that have over 250,000 clicks, I'm sure the Z will do just fine.

+1

The key factor here (for ANY engine) is how you take care of it.

I was told by numerous people at Nissan that the current VQ was actually built for longevity and performance wasn't their main priority, although they did pretty well in the performance dept.

+2 LOL Funny *** question for sure. I'm sure that either one would last to 200K if well maintained

I remember reading that the bench mark for Nissan for the 350Z was that it would last over 200K.

At least a year ago I read some owners here already exceeded 100k.

Hmmm...I plan to ABUSE mine for at least 250K.

Given proper maintenance, any modern Japanes engine should last at least 250K regardless how it is driven.
