Default Oil change before winter storage?

I only have about 3000 miles since the last oil change but is it a good idea to change the oil before storing the car for the winter?

TIA

Yep! For the sake of $30 it's not worth spending too much time thinking about it.

I believe I read somewhere in here that oil changes before and after storage are recommended. I'll be performing this service to my beloved Z very soon...

If I could just figure out how to deal with Z withdrawls over the winter.

Yes- did mine last night and I only had about 3500 miles this year. I would trust my Amsoil for 4 times that many miles if necessary.

No reason to change again in the Spring, unless you are stored somewhere very humid.

IMO it is more important to change the oil after taking it out of storage than before.

But, ideally, you would do it before and after.

Why would you want to store this beautiful machine for the winter?

Most of us living in snowy climes store their cars in winter, so they remain beautiful. Those of you living in LA, and the like, are lucky to be spared the harm that road salt and chunks of frozen slush does to ones car - especially one with alumnium suspension components and rims. Like the fellow in VT, I am making one last road trip before returning the car to the barn for winter.

which part looks most fun- the snow or the mud??
(and, of course, with the snow comes salt on the road)

I have dry, warm storage. To me, it is better not to have a season worth of contaminants in my oil settle to the bottom all winter.
