Default Grease streaks go away?

Has anyone had luck with the darn things just going away with numerous washes of the window or some other fix short of taking the door panel apart? I really don't feel like going through that or leaving it at the dealer for a day, but this grease is beginning to bug me now.

I've only had it on my driver's side window and ever since the first time it appeared, it hasn't really gotten worse. I'm cleaning the car this weekend and I'll wipe it off as best I can and see if it comes back...

Well, I have nearly 8000 miles now and it only seems to get worse. It has always been worse on the passenger side.

There's a way on how to get rid of it. Someone suggested on this board that u can use a tape like a hockey stick tape or something and stick to where the grease is showing. Roll the windows up and down until it dries up i guess.

I'm looking for a double sided tape too right now.

Word of Caution: Be careful not to have the tape stuck down there.

I have a question, how do you know if it is "grease" or "water" that gets on your windows after you roll them down and back up?

It seems that most of the time my windows come back up dry, but for a few days after i wash the car they will come back up wet, however the wet does go away on its own without me having to wipe them clean.

Am i getting water down in my window seam and is that bad for my car, or does washing the windows make the grease stick to them easier or something?

I have had my car since January. I have always had the grease on the drivers side. I tried the tape trick a couple times. It didnt do anything. I also tried fabric medical tape. It all starts to peel off after a couple times, and I didnt want it to get lost inside... Only to be embarrased at the dealership if they opened the door up...

If they open the door up, I am sure it will rattle when it is back together... But I am thinking about doing it anyway.

As I remember, the tape fix didn't work.

I spent nearly 6 hours at the dealership waiting for the damn thing to be fixed. They quoted me 2-3 hours, 4 at the most. I'm guessing the car sat around for a few hours. It went away for a day, came back the next.

Dah.

TSB is supposed to be issued around the end of March. Most attempted fixes haven't worked.

Window Streaks Fixed
After waiting for 3 months for the parts my WINDOW STREAKS are fixed.
Regal Nissan replaced the window stabilizers p/n 80344-CD000. They also replaced the passanger side SUN VISOR p/n 96400-CD040. No more rattleing.
Regal tried to tell me that the streaks were from the tinting.NOT
My suggestion is to take your car in to the dealer and get the parts on order. I don't think that there is a TSB on this yet.
Good Luck and have patience.

If it is water then it will evaporate shortly. The grease streaks that everyone is talking about will not go away until the window is cleaned, the problem corrected, or enough of the grease is used up so that it no longer streaks the window.

The streaks are on the inside of the window only. There will be only one 9/16"-wide streak that starts about 8-1/2" back from the front edge of the window. Apparently the roller that causes the streak is about 9/16" wide.

I took mine to the dealer last FRI 3/14/03. They had it for over 4hrs, couldn't figure out what to do to fix it. They said they would look into it and get back w/ me.

Who did it, and how?? The reason I ask is, so my dealership can call to learn how to fix the problem. Thanks, Hogan
