CAR & DRIVER Project 350Z Grand AM Racer...
Hello,
Hahaha... well... The HP and TQ will be secret once we have our motors installed and running, but you guys can probably figure it out - stock motor rebuilt to the limit of the spec sheets, nismo cams, intake, headers, open exhaust, stand-alone ecu. It won't be a huge amount of power, but it should be a good amount more than stock.
The rules put our weight at 2900 lbs, which means the car, without driver, needs to be no more than 2915, in my book (if we got them down there, which I think is very likely). We have no idea what the cars will be (we'll know by the end of the week, it's just that we're prepping them for the show so we haven't had a chance to weigh them), but if they're under 2900 then we'll be adding lead to make them heavier.
And finally, track times, we have absolutely no idea
Our first track event / shakedown will be around Nov. 13 or 22nd, depending on how quickly we can prep the cars after SEMA. For those used to Cali tracks, we'll be at Thunderhill, so I'll post a time up from there. My guess is that with the carousel, we should still be under 2:00, hopefully around 1:55ish. But that's only once the suspension is setup well and the driver learns this completely new car...

This car is no longer running Grand-Am evnets. The last event it ran was a SCCA club event, I believe in VIR, and it was totaled.

Hello,
I posted the pic in the other thread (in the road race section), but I thought I'd post it here, too... this is one of the cars as it stands now, complete and ready for SEMA. The second car will catch up later today and be ready to transport on Saturday!

Don't add lead!!!
Hey guys, the Grand Am Cup series has been renamed the Koni Challenge. Grand Am and Koni used our cars for the photo op. You can't see much of the car in the picture, but Grand Am's site has a small pic and story on it.
