Default 350Z Buying Advice Needed

I'm thinking of buying a 2004 305Z convertible but I've been reading about some problems with suspension that causes the front tires to wear quickly. I know this problem existed with the 2003 models but *may* have been fixed for 2004. Can anyone confirm this? Is anyone even certain it has been fixed for 2005? I heard that the problem may have been fixed mid year 2004, anyone know for sure? If so which months would be good?

It was/is still a wear issue on my 2004. I get about 18K now, before the noise starts up.

The only way to tell is take the car for a drive and check the tires for abnormal wear. Not every single car was affected.

Is you are shopping for reliable transportation, forget a performance sports car. There are better choices like a Honda.

This car was manufactured 07/04 and has 13,000 miles. Would abnormal tire wear just be in the front or the rear also?

Problem varied with each car. My 03 had minor feathering (24,000 miles on OEM tires); others had much shorter tire life.

I'd suggest having mechanic look at tires & tell you what he thinks. For the most part, feathering is not a reason for not buying the car, imo.

I brought an 04 ZR about 18 months ago. Just a a precaution, I had my front and rear lined up. I've had no problems at all.

Just got back from taking it for a test ride. At around 25-30 mph I let go of the steering wheel and it swayed to the right, alignment was way off. This car only has 13,000 miles on it. Is it safe to say it DOES have the feathering problem?

Check out other cars. I am taking Nissan to arbitration over the tire wear issue that I have had to deal with for three years now. From all the research I havef done they have yet to do anything about the problem.
