Hello, new Z owner I have an '04 convertible and when I start moving and press the gas I hear a clicking noise. almost sounds like metal on metal or maybe a hammer hitting a nail a sort of dink noise. but it only happens when I first press the gas. Maybe it is because I have a convertible and hear all the noises. I am still under factory warranty but I was wondering if it is normal to have that noise. The car runs fine and I only have 25k miles on it. I may be over precautious but just wondering if anyone else noticed.

 

Is it the common rear axle clicking? Sounds like dropping coins on concrete?

 

yes it does sound like coins on concrete

 

Take the car to the dealer. Tell them that the rear axle is clicking. They will fix it under warranty.

Nothing major. Took my dealer 1 hour to fix while I waited. It's a TSB; a good dealer should know exactly what it is.

 

No just annoying as hell.
