"Change" and "Difference" are always a hard pill to swallow for some, but I guarantee the hood will look great in person, especially on the Black or San Marino Blue. I think the bulge is perfectly proportinal to the rest of the hood and overall design; break out your slide-rules people.

actually, the hood has grown on me so much. and when i look at it now, its nice. i garauntee that if the hood was like this since the 03 models, we wouldnt even be talking about how ugly it is.

people are scared of change.

The concept drawings for the next lancer actually look pretty sweet.

Just to balance out some of the negative comments on the '07 Z hood, I've got to say that I like it.

It does, trust me. It's not as easy to notice (on a Redline anyways). I think it looks pretty damn good in person... and it's there for a reason. Don't like the hood? Then you must not like the VQ35HR enough to deal with it.

And for the 8-millionth time... THE BULGE IS DEFINATELY ON THE '07!

Nissan would have put the bulge in the hood from 2003 if it actually looked great. The whole paying homage to the 240Z baloney as some of you have suggested. But the car wasn't designed aesthetically with the bulge in the hood. Period. You can rationalize all you want about it looking great but the hood has a bulge for clearance and not for looks. I think there are maybe three aftermarket hoods with bulges in them and they aren't top sellers. That pretty much tells you that most Z owners don't like the look.

Yeah, somebody posted about the website "update" a day or 2 ago. They suck. They should have just left it alone entirely, right now the page says 2007 Z with 2006 pricing and trim... all that is gonna do is confuse potential buyers. Not everybody is as intelligent as we are.

Nissan should leave the "homage" to companies that really can't come up with any new attractive designs, like Ford (Mudstain), Chevy (Cameo), and Dodge (Challenged mentally). This "homage" BS is really just a way of saying, "um, Our design engineers can't think of anything so they just recycled what was already done."
If Nissan goes with my suggestion, then the lines of the car will match much better. You can find it here, posting # 25

The hood has nothing to do with homage... I don't know why people keep saying this.

It's to accomodate the HR engine.

not yet -- waiting on the settlement $$$ number. I told the body shop to hold the car until they give it to me.

Default Enthusiast vs Touring....

Gentlemen, do you think it's worth to get the Touring edition instead of the Enthusiast edition if you don't really care that much about power seats, heated sits and the Boss Audio system??..your input will be greatly appreciated....
