I can't address the issue about where the car "comes alive". I only have 350 miles on it and I am trying to break in according to the book. So, for 1200 miles, no full throttle accerleration and nothing over 4000 rpms.

Im sure the shifting differs per car a bit. Plus, like I had mentioned, this car had only 21 miles on it, so Im sure things will smooth out once its broken in.

Yes, I LOVE MY 07.

A friend was riding with me yesterday and I had hit 40 in 2nd through a area by my house where it's a 25, and he was so suprised I was goign 40, said it didnt feel like I was going above 25.

It is a very smooth ride, and it does feel like a turbo'd car almost around 3-4k when the power seems to kick in. Like VTEC almost =P

I know what you mean! But havent really felt vtec yet, still breaking it in. At around 3500 the engine sounds sweet and you feel power come on! But I have to stop at 4000 cause of break in. Man I cant wait.

Yeah... Ive taken the car past 4000... only a few times and not much. Taking it to 5-6k 1ce or twice is not going to make ur car explode. Doing it on a regular basis for the first 1200 i could understand. But do something for yourself take it to 6k 1ce or twice and feel the love!

Default Week 2 - no problems on 07 touring

Week 2 of the 07 Z and it is smooth. No creaks, rattles, paint or body issues. The car just keeps asking for more foot in it! The IPOD is in, the windows are tinted and the Infinity Kappa speakers go in this weekend to replace the bose junk. The wife likes it better than our new C6.

Thumbs up Test Drive

Hey guys, well I'm new to the site so bear with me. I drove the 07 350Z 2 days ago and the first thing that I noticed was definitely the torque. I noticed the car pulls harder and smoother. The road noise is much less as well. I own a Track model from the previous years and the new model seemed to be faster than mine. I opened it up on the highway and noticed the power band is somewhat similar but seemed a little more responsive. The twin-intake system is a great addition in my opinion, great sound while you are driving, not overwhelming. First negative thing I saw was the hood, I saw the 06 and 07 next to each other. The 06 seemed sleek, while the 07 seemed bulky in the front. Overall, I drove the car through windy roads, stop and go and highway, and it seems less energy spent driving the car. Possibly because of the new clutch, seems very soft compared to my older 350Z.

The exhaust question has been beaten to death so please forgive me if this has already been answered, and some how I missed it.

Now I know it’s not true duel exhaust, but to my understanding it could be changed up to be a true duel set up (With the headers being the way they are).
My question to all of you is, Will the after market most likley produce a “true” duel exhaust setup. I don’t have my 07 yet so I can’t tell if there will be room to rout a true duel setup. I would assume it would be a HP gain and a better sound. Exhaust is by far uncharted territory for me so if any one has in put or insight I would like to hear what you have to say.

Cheers

Kevin

A true dual exhaust will just have one pipe going under and above the sway bar. Heres a pic of the undercarriage of an 07. And here is a pic of a True Dual exhaust....Dont mind the circles

Better than the C6. You're kidding, right?

For anyone who may care, the rear ride height of the 07 seems to be back to where it was with the 03-05. Hotchkis just installed a stage one kit (springs/sway bar) and when I picked it up, this was the first thing they told me. At first i was kinda disapointed because I loved the OEM ride height. But looking at it more and more, its starting to look really good.

I know, I need spacers BAD!

They also weighed it. It came out to be 3,352.

Drive great by the way. Car seems lighter in turns. Feels like it wants to rotate more..Thanks again Hotchkis!
