Arrow ...of front plates & bucktoothed cars

I was dropping some kids off at the pool while reading C&Ds editorials section and came upon this little gem. Usually a collection of off beat trivia and incessant whining, there was a good point made at the end of Aprils edition. While it's amusing to see the RX-8 called an angry guppy without a plate and Bugs Bunny with, the "bucktoothed" look isn't reserved just for RX-8s, as the Zs with front plates have the same problems. So, while I know that a few of you didn't have a choice, a number of us insisted that it not go on (I made the dealership promise no plate or I'd not take delivery), and yet a few others have rigged up something to place it down on the grille -- what can be done to stop this burgeoning crop of new cars that look like various members of the rodent family?

Maybe we should all just support legislation to get rid of the front plate altogether.

LOL, not sure what is scarrier.......the accuracy of the car desciptions ......or the mental image of you dropping the kids off.

I have thought the same thing. With the proliferation of red-light cameras more and more states will be requiring the front plates, but the car designers seem oblivious and pretend that they don't exist. I have toyed with the idea of mounting the front plate over the grille, but off to on side instead of in the center. Is there anyone out there that has done that or could do a photoshop of what it would look like?

Thanks for the photoshop. I don't think I will go with the offset plate, that looks even worst! Oh well.....

I noticed in the European sports car mags cars will sometimes have the front license plate "painted" on the front bumper. Or maybe it is a large sticker.

This guy who saw my car(sideview) at walmart thought that it was a $80k Porsche. He looked at the front and said that it looks like a frog and said that some companies make their cars look like animals.

Most often a verbal warning or "slap on the wrist" fix-it ticket.
