350z, VQ HR, LA Auto Show
The show, especially Nissan, wasn't all that good - it was ok. There were a lot of concept cars, but most are retarded . No GT-R, no Supra, no new S2000, Rx 7, NSX etc., only the '07 Z, which was locked.
The Hood -
That bubble on the '07 Z doesn't look all that bad in person, and it's not very noticeable, like, say Stillen's. I spoke to one of the representives and was told that the bubble isn't there only to make room for the new dual-intake plenum -- it's there to also make room for Nismo's upcoming super charger. The New plenum has an angle to it, just like the old plenum, so I think the old hood would still fit. It might be that Nissan is making room for a super charger.
The Engine (G35's)
The best part of the show was probably viewing the new VQ hr in person - that, alone, was worth the 8 bucks. It looks amazing, with equal-length headers, dual intake, LED lights flashing everywhere lol. The headers are a work of art, and it's pretty cool to see Nissan have things like that stock. Just from looking at the engine in person, I really think this new VQ HR is more of a raw sports-car engine than any previous VQ's put in the Z.

Among other concept cars, the Audi R8 was one of the attention-grabbers. The car looks very nice in person - wide and low to the ground. It looks like a mix between the NSX, Ferrari 355, 350z.
Pontiac has a pretty cool Solstice as well.

In the Exotic area, Lamborghini was huge, taking up most of the space with no less than two Murcialagos, two Gallardos, and two hot chicks with nice buns
Ferrari was more low-key and anti-social, with their booth in the middle of no where.

One of the highlights of the show has to be that area advertising for the up-coming movie "RedLine." I know the oil is good, but the movie, with those cars that they have, is insaine. I think it will be the synthetic of all car movies. Seeing all of my future cars in one area was utterly amazing - over two million dollars worth of cars.
They say that wrecked Carrera GT was from the movie - I say whoever did that to my baby is going to get wrecked

Why would you do that to a Carrera GT? With all the technological advances we have today and computer technology, just WHY?
Nice pix, I love going to shows like that. Wish they would send one our way to Boston. Our car shows are not nearly that exciting.

The Mustang was just redesigned, and there is aready a new model. It actually looks pretty cool in person, and I think the designers did a good job - there were a few people in awe. The comaro was also popular, but I think the mustang has a solid design. For all you mustang and Comaro fans who can't come to LA

Did you look inside the Z? If you did, are there any differences from the '06 model? The side mirrors look different.

And a few pix of the Convention center. For those camera enthusiasts, all pix were taken with a Canon 30D and 24-70L lens. Lighting was excellent, so most pictures were shot with iso 200 and straight from the camera without editing. Enjoy.

The angle and lighting made the mirrors look different, I think they're the same old ones
