Here's a thought, be satisfied with the ***** size God gave ya and not try to compensate with a m/t. Drive what ya like and realize what someone else chooses is none of your concern. For those that say a/t drivers shouldn't have a Z, I ask you this... I brought my a/t brand new, free and clear. How many of you have no payments? Using the logic some of you display, those who make car payments on their Z should have bought a used metro instead. I think I can drive what I wish.

Good day now...

This is a sports car.

The AT is not only slower, but is less powerful.

How can you justify getting a sports car if you're willing to compromise power and performance?

Unless you are missing your left leg, STICK.

ok, that is a bold statement and requires proof. considering that both the manual and the auto have the same HP and torque numbers, both can reach the maximum speed, and when was the last time you heard of an auto "missing" a shift? Plus a lot of high end cars are going to a similar type of transmission (paddle shift) that does not require a clutch, are those cars slow as well? using the manual shift on the automatic is very close to the manual, only difference is gear ratios.

The auto in the Z is actually pretty fast shifting.

The A/T is actually faster than the M/T, due to the gearing (considering ECU reflash to remove limiter).

I seriously don't get why people will get an auto sportscar.
When you cannot control your engine speed (and you also have less power) then it is more of a faux-sports car. Kind of like calling a faux-hawk a real mow hawk. ITS NOT.

Why half *** it? Get a manual, and be a man. Like someone else said, A/T is for 16 year old girls... or maybe 80 year old women.

Seriously, I can't believe why people feel the need to dictate what other people drive. Mind your own business.

I can control rpm's fine with the A/T. I beginning to believe you have never driven one.

Are you that insecure with yourself? Face it, you are pissed (along with others who create these type arguments) because you bought an inferior product. Your vehicle is less reliable (lets compare repair/replacement stats for A/T vs M/T). That says one of two things... The M/T is a PoS or most of you don't know how to shift a M/T. Also my car is lighter than yours. But it's no reason for you to get your panties in a bunch.

Enjoy your ride and I'll enjoy mine.

I didnt really read what you wrote fully. but what i did read, makes no sense. Thats like saying well if the auto had this and that, it would win. In the real world, the stick would beat the auto. point blank period. We arent talking about well the stick driver misses thiss gear and missed the shifts. Gear for gear the stick will win. Heres a thought, stop comparing ***** size to m/t. and admit that gear for gear a 6mt would win. You keep buying your automatic "sportscar" that you paid off right away. And I will keep stomping your automatic "sportscar" bc I wont miss a shift.

GOOD DAY

That and the vets that flame them. But I said what I said bc i thought what the guy said was pretty lame. He is taking into account missing gears, but all im saying is gear for gear the 6mt would win

Really, indicate where I inferred that...

In the real world, the stick would beat the auto. point blank period. We arent talking about well the stick driver misses thiss gear and missed the shifts.
Umm, you have it backwards. On paper, the M/T is quicker, however in the real world, that isn't necessarily true. You see in the real world, driver skill plays a huge part. So you are a fool if you believe missed shifts don't play a part. You are the one magazine racing, not me.

Gear for gear the stick will win. Heres a thought, stop comparing ***** size to m/t. and admit that gear for gear a 6mt would win.
Actually, if you want to talk gear ratios with me, at least knoow what the hell you are talking about. Gear ratio has nothing to do with an M/T being quicker (on paper) than an A/T. It actually indicates otherwise.

You keep buying your automatic "sportscar" that you paid off right away. And I will keep stomping your automatic "sportscar" bc I wont miss a shift.
Got anything to prove you are such an awesome driver?

Which A/T Z's have you "stomped" btw?

None of you have ever answered one of my important questions though... If you claim to not be compensating, then why get so bent out of shape at what other people choose to drive? A secure person wouldn't care.

You need to come back into the real world.. seriously.
Is an Auto trans really lighter? I would think it makes the car heavier (someone chime in here)

And you just called out alot of ppl on here who probably know how to drive alot better then you or I... so...

Cheers,

R350z

Would you prefer I talk to you like I talk to my six year old nephew then? Would that help you understand?

BTW, waiting for you to answer my question.
