Anyone seen this months edition of Motor Trend? The G35 made it as a finalist, but the Toyota ended up winning Car of the Year. 350Z was not even in the line up to be considered. Whats up with that? I know our cars get awards all the time, and are generally praised for its abilities at its price point. But to not even be looked at to me is shameful. Oh well, I guess we all know we have great cars. I suppose this could even be a blessing in that less people will buy them so they stay at least a little more rare.
Either way, it looks like Motor Trend hates on us too. /sigh Any thoughts on this?

MT only considers new or redesigned cars. Who cares about MT anyways, it is just another hack of an auto magazine. Autoweek is the only auto mag that I enjoy.

Like I said, I personally don't need vindication, but I have to wonder why it wouldnt even be considered. I read in a post somewhere that someone at Motor Trend doesnt like the Z. Makes me wonder if it carried over to this years decision making.

MT sucks lol and yeah I ran across that issue
I was like WTF? O well like the other guy said its
all bout new redesigned cars and crap. If I recall
correctly they didnt have any sports cars in there lineup
to begin with. If I want to hear good things bout our cars
I'll stick to ummmm my350z.com lol

I doubt a 2 seater sports car would ever win - not practical enough for magazine editors.

COTY is only open to cars that are brand new or have been significantly redesigned. This is why the G35 was nominated and not the 350Z. With it's new engine, the '07 350Z may be included in next year's competition.

i'm guessing the Z didn't make it cuz it's cousin "G35" is more of the luxury line. Anywho... toyota/lexus is well deserved for car of the year.
