Would you want guys to call "your" SRT4 a Neon?

Nissan could make a Sentra: with a TT, a Huge hood scoop, a Huge rear wing, FUGLY front-end, sport tuned suspension, "super deluxe" alloy wheels...That can beat a stock 350Z in a red light drag race...And call it anything they like...

To me, it would still be an $$$$ Nissan Sentra.

Blinded by loyalty much?

My STi is faster than my Z from 0-90, that is the bottomline.

This is reality. From a high-roll, the Z takes the STi, no doubt. Like it or not, the "Econo-box" is still faster than my Z in the majority of situations. I wish it was the other way around, mostly b/c the Z looks so much better than the STi. However, when comparing the Z to the STi, the only thing going for the Z is looks. If that's what you were going after, you should have just saved your money and bought a nice suit.

Not blinded by loyalty at all. Adibese calls 'em how he sees 'em. If I race a stock STI, I will beat him unless it's just a short race. I'm sure that on a dirt road he can win though.

i also think that you cannot compare. the sti is not a sports car.
it was an economy car that was made fast.
as far as enjoying driving goes i would go rwd over awd any day.
when pushing an sti it behaves more fwd than rwd. eck.
and looks should be considered. you will have to look at the car everyday.
the z is the obvious hands down winner.

^^ i wouldn't say that.. STi and 350z both have their attributes. the sti is more a brute fighter and the 350z takes the money from the power and put it to the looks.

i have both cars, i know! :P

n to that idiot talkin about it being 71 degrees yesterday well it wasn't 71 degrees here and besides IT'S STILL DECEMBER!!! we got winter til like MAY. I guarantee that it WILL NOT be 71 degrees in the middle of FEBRUARY!
what an idiot like since it was warm one day winter is over
driving a z in the snow scares you??? lol
i've been driving 3-400 hp rwd cars in the snow for years. i dont just do it when i have to either. i look forward to it. every snow fall. preferably before the plows.
if you have snow tires and bothered to learn how to handle a rwd car you would not be scared.
what scares me is fwd in the snow. once those *****es plow (fwd cars that is) you're going where that car wants. off the road, into a guard rail, wherever. HUGE disadvantage having the same wheels steer and deliver power up front.

and for those that don't know newark, NJ- it's an urban hellhole. drugs, etc... but the roads are incredibly well maintained. that would be one of the easiest places in the state to own a rwd car during the winter.

You are just repeating what myself and others have said already only you seem to think it's breaking news or something.

So if you were to race an STI from a dig for about 2 or 3 blocks, yes it would probably win over the Z, other than that.....forget about it.
And you're bragging because your STI is faster all the way to 90! Wow on a cracker man! Lol.
About how many seconds is that before the Z starts giving the STI a beat down?
My granny takes her oldsmobile up to 90mph when she delivers her newspapers. 90 isn't **** for any type of performance car.

Ummm....did you forget what you typed about 3 sentences before this non-sense?

You are calling other Z owners blinded by loyality? If you like the STI over the Z, you're just blind, period.

Have a nice day Mr. STI. Move along now. Nothing to see here.

What I hate...

I'm driving my 350Z to a posh restaurant and BAM...

I'm suddenly in a rally heading for the next red light and I'm not driving an Impreza.

You got it, I'll leave. The one thing that your blind loyalty must have missed is that I love the Z and I know for a fact it's a great car. I owned one and I even miss it sometimes, but not when I'm driving my STi. If anything, your blind loyalty made you miss the whole point of this thread: Looks aside, Z or STi? Doesn't that make you guys trolls?

My opinion, looks aside: STi

I have a good deal of respect for cars like the Evo and STI. I know very well what they are capable of. If I ever had the need for a 4 door sports car, they would be at the top of the list. Fortunately, my current situation allows me to get by with a car like the Z.

I guess I cant really say much about the car since I have yet to get behind the wheel of one. But that also means I cant knock it (like others have been). Honestly, people around here are quick to bash other cars; many of which I dont agree with (STI, EVO, RX-8, etc). Most sports cars have their special niche or primary focus. While the EVO/STI types are geared towards maximum traction, communicative suspension, and powerful boost, the Z is jack of all trades. It isnt the fastest, best handling, prettiest, cheapest, or whatever; but it does everything fairly well.

So please, stop with the bashing. It is getting quite old.

And besides, its not like we are comparing the Z to a crossfire

I'm not sure about "blind loyalty". I mean most recognize that there are better cars than the Z. Me, I'd like to get a Lotus. What I don't get, is that an opinion was asked for, and there's bickering about it. Personally, I will never drive an AWD car again. Understeer does not make Adibese happy. If it makes you Sti guys happy, then cool. But don't say how much better the Sti is, because unless it's on a dirt road, it really isn't

I am not going to be bias in my opinion, ok, the STI is a exceptional car it takes to mods very well, but in the end you are working with a 4cyl car, you will soon realize the cheap mods that make great horses on STI will only be cheap untill they cap out the hp w/ cheap mods.

The Z is a great platform for a "real" sportscar, though it is not cheaply moddable, you will be rewarded with higher hp, and a much later hp cap- than the STI

ok, now for my bias opinion, the STI is for guys who want hp right now, The Z is for guys who can take their time to make a higher hp, better quality machine.
