Default I just wanted to say...

driving a Z after 3 months is the greatest.. before i bought my Z i was looking at the G35's.. anyways my mom wanted to help me lower my payments.. im 19 and i pay fully for my Z insurance and all about $800 a month, so she wants to buy me a G35 coupe brand new and sell the title to the bank and make me pay off the bank loan which would be a much lower % since it's in her name and less $, so i went to test drive a G just to see if this was an option.. and i must say after driving the G i was nothing but dissapointed.. the handling and the acceleration compared to the Z is trash.. if i bought the G my payments would be about $400 a month.. instead im going to keep the Z and keep what i love and pay $800... call me crazy but you just cant compare, for the price the Z is the best damn car HANDS DOWN.

it was like night and day to me.. i was sadly sadly dissapointed. GRANTED i do have an injen intake and JIC exhaust which add a whopping 8whp on the dyno.

I drove both the Z and the G and I liked both, the only thing I didn't like about the G is the back seats, haha, I know I know, but I love the feel and look of a two seater sports car!! I could feel the extra weight when driving the G, but the G does have a smoother ride

G = usless back seats, fancy wood trim and watered down factory tuning
Z = finely tuned two seat sports coupe

Must... not... enter... Z/G war...

Oh, well. I test drove both cars. I test drove the G35c first and the 350Z afterwards. My impression is that the G35c felt like I was driving on air, I couldn't "feel" the road, so to me, it felt like I was sliding everywhere. With the 350Z, I could "feel" the road and felt more in control. To the best of my memory, the 350Z felt a bit faster, probably because I just felt the road more *shrug*

Speaking purely on acceleration, I don't think it was night and day. As for overall driving experience, it was night and day.

Well… First question if this posting is for real. It reads a little like a trap. If it is real, then what I tell you is going to sound like your mom, so you may want to quit reading my message (I’m a lot older than your mom). But, if I still have your attention, here are my thoughts.

First, if you drove a G35 Coupe MT and you think there was a big difference in the acceleration (You said: “the handling and the acceleration compared to the Z is trash”) I am wondering how you compared the two different cars’ acceleration since they both have the same engine and transmission. The G35 is slightly heavier, but “Car and Driver” magazine got nearly identical 0-60 results with both cars. Arguably the handling is better with the Z, but the ride is worse, so there is a compromise that allows a lot of debate.

And, if I understand your post, you can cut $400/month of the cost by going to a G35 from the Z? Did I read this right? If that is the case, and unless you are rich and never need to consider the cost, your choice is simple. You dump the Z and “tolerate” driving the G35. You take that extra $400/month and put that into growth stocks (decent growth stocks now are IMAX and SIRI (Sirius)). You’re 19, so you finish college in a couple of years, take some of the profit from your wise stock investment (at LT rates taxed at the capital rate of 15%) along with your equity in the G35 MT coupe, and buy a brand new Z, and use the extra dough to customize this Z into a really cool and bad-boy machine. You end up with a great car, and a lot of extra cash. Get over it. Do it.
