One small problem with your arguement. This engine is rated using the new SAE ratings which are more conservative then when your engine was rated. Add at least 10 to both numbers to arrive at where it would be rated using the old ratings.

So, it has at least 30 more hp then you and at least 3 more torque. Regardless, check out the dyno on the main 07 thread in the main forum. The torque is almost identical except the HR has a big boost a 2k rpm. The Hp is nearly identical except MUCH better past 6k RPM's.

The new redline and power band will make it noticeably faster then the 03-06.

This was my thought as well. I noticed the dyno chart here:
https://my350z.com/forum/showpost.ph...&postcount=921

Assuming that dyno graph is true, that would suggest the new HR engine will be surperior in every way. On that note, it's important to remember that *peak* power and torque numbers can be deceiving, and should never be considered without seeing a full dyno plot. It's always possible that a car with lower peaks numbers could actually be faster than a car with higher peaks, assuming the car with lower peaks has a better, flatter torque curve that comes in earlier and hangs around longer. It all comes down to the entire curve, not just the peak. That's why I've always been frustrated with the fact that car specs always show the peaks, but never the whole curves.
