I have no problem getting a "clean reading". I check the oil before starting the engine, after it has had a while to sit.

Im also having trouble reading the dipstick. But when I did my first oil change it only consumed about 1/4 of a quart after 3k

Quite pathetic actually.. My GF's STi has way less $$$$ in it and it now puts 303 WHP and 321 Ft, LBS WTQ... I'm not putting anymore money into it N/A... Saving for either an RB26 swap, or built TT motor.... I think the RB would be cheaper though...

need something(analog/digital) that reads like a fuel guage which would indicate 1/2 qt. to 1/4 qt. readings. A low level indicator light is just an idiot light.

Actually the fuel gauge probably would suffice. When it is time to refuel, it is time to add oil. Very sad, but very true.
