Default DO I have a really slooooow Z???

Hi Guys,

I am just very disapointed, but I went yesturday to the track, and the numbers were not convincing at all. What I am doing wrong? or is just the car that SUCKS real beg time?

First time was 14.89, ok I admit, I was sleeping on the light, jejeje
But my best time was 14.41? is this Normal, for a Stock, only test pipes, and HPRacing wheels 19"?

God give me some advice, I am about to sell the car, very frustrated!

Thank you Guys!

reaction time has no bearing on your quarter mile. The clock doesn't start until you cross a certain point, you would literally sit there for 5 minutes and still run a 14 second 1/4. What are the conditions like over there? Temp, altitude, track conditions? Posting your timeslip will help alot

seems a bit high for stock...what kind of launch did you do? Did you get alot of wheelhop or spin? Do you have a 500 pound stereo or a passanger?

It also depends on the model and year of your Z. The stock 6 speed 2003 can run a 13.77 in the right conditions though the 2006 is heavier and less torque and in the same conditions runs a 14.2. So you may be running just slightly over the best run in a stock 06 if your running 14.4's.

I have an 03 touring AT with pop charger and exhaust on 20's and my best time was a 14.3. So I would say your numbers are not that bad.

dont worry about it, the stock STI runs 13.5 at the track....its because all wheels are pulling instead of just the rear wheels. our cars are sexier, it pulls more tang than any STI/EVO + dont forget how fun it is to drift!!!

Like I said man I have an 03 AT and I ran a 14.3 so if you want better times you need to do a SC or Turbo. It sounds like you will not be happy with just minor bolt-ons. You need to ask yourself this "do you like the looks of the Z and do you enjoy driving the Z?" If you answered yes to those questions who cares about the 1/4 mile times. Cleaning the MAF and new spark plugs will not make your car go faster. If you want small HP gains get a plenum spacer, pop-charger, exhaust, y-pipe, etc. If you don't like those suggestions go buy a Ford Pinto if you can find one they used to run like raped apes............ LOL

What's the weight on those HPRacing wheels 19"? Just the 19" alone takes away some time. The extra weight on the wheel really hurts too.

Don't live your life a 1/4 mile at a time. That's just advertising talk.

p.s. Are you super insanely fat?! Maybe that's why...jk

Did you say... pinto? Isn't that the car that has the gas tank at the very front of the car and catches on fire whenever it got into a front end collision?
