Whats up with that silver trim piece by the interior door handle? Doesnt seem like it belongs.
I think that's a just white plastic sticker to keep that panel from getting marred before delivery. They left those on my 06 when I picked it up...

The VQ35 wasn't designed to be transverse mounted specifically. It first appeared in the Pathfinder - not a FWD vehicle. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say Nissan designed it knowing full well that it would be used in RWD, FWD and 4WD vehicles before they ever put pencil to paper. In fact, if you add up how many FWD vehicles vs how many RWD vehicles use this engine, you'll find that the ratio is about even.

Damm dude, you know your VQ35... So that dipstick under the air intake tube was intentional? Looks more like an "Oh ****, we forgot about a dipstick!" design...

The E36 M3 dipstick is a 12-gauge picece of straight metal with a plastic measuring thing at the bottom. No muss, no fuss. I might go check out an 07 z just to see the dipstick! That might be enough to sway me to an 07. That and no pinging...

Do you believe that the new G35 with the new HR engine would be able to whip an 04.5 Z w/a Nismo exhaust (drivers are of equal skill)? This would be totally unacceptable to me!

Hey guys! Trip out! The 07's have two tail pipes in the back of the car instead of just one. Did anybody else notice? Err, that must be a Track model in the pikchurs.

I hope that's numbers for the 06 because otherwise it's dissapointing.
07 G and Lexus IS350, which has same hp and more weight than the Z, tested for 0-60 time of low 5's.

I dont think it will be easy as the ecu would have to be programmed for 2 TB, 2 MAFS, and you will need a upper and lower collector since the collector flange looks totally different. Probably not worth the swap....who knows.
all you have to do is hook up a HKS VPC type of electronics to the engine... this way you can run without an MAF... but hey thats me... if i get this car though however i may just be able to put the new popcharger kits out on the market first... i am a machinist after all... but i need to find someone to take my tundra for a half decent price

Color is really nice. Hood is not that bad.
I wonder whether the new hood can be fitted for 03-06, also whether Stillen SC would fit under this new hood on 03-06?

Default Headers on new VQ35HR?

Also, does the new engine use equal lenght headers? It would be fun to retrofit them on the older engine.

Those performance numbers sux to the power of 10 -- I'm hoping that's a mistake of some sort by C/D. I'm sure the VQhr has more potential in the n/a aftermarket than both the current VQ's, but in stock form, it looks really bad Where is the light-weight, non-couch potato version of the Z? There should be a no-radio, no-rear carpet, no-anything-that's-related-to-luxury version. I would buy that in a heartbeat.

By the way Eddie, could you please film the new engine reving and driving around for us? I wonder what it sounds like.

Oh ****, I'm not the OP...
Sounds like they finally got it right for the 07 then. Kudos Nissan, glad I waited and still waiting "patiently" for the new model.
