What type of re050s do they come with. The regular RE050As or the new RE050A pole positions?

Well IMO the car doesn't look very good and from a performance stand point the car isn't much better. Woohoo the car revs higher and makes a little bit more hp, if you mainly want a rev-happy engine then Honda is waiting for you with open arms. If you already have a Z it is much more cost effective to FI the car, mod suspension and wheels/tires than it would be to get only a marginially better car. In a year or two when the cost is down and aftermarket manufacturers figure out how to take advantage of some of the new engine then there could be a benefit, but for now there isn't IMO. I could be mis-informed, but isn't Nissan going to come out with a brand new Z/G in a year or two?

+1. The DE will continue to dominate the aftermarket for at least another 2/3 years. It's just a matter of numbers and economics. By the time the HR gains traction in the aftermarket, the Z/G will have been redesigned and will have a 3.7L or greater engine. I'll wait until then to start my HR modding career.

I noticed it and I drive an auto. Pretty hard to miss when you see the 7.5k redline

Me too. I'm staying stock until I see modded 07 w/ dynos or possibly wait for the redesign (if they dont screw it up)

With equal-length headers, dual-intake manifold, and a 7.5k rpm redline STOCK, add a lightened flywheel, High-flow cats/test pipes, and a 3.9 final drive (less than $3k total), and the new '07 with the VQhr will be one fast Z. I strongly believe it'll be in the current M3's leauge with those mods.

This new engine has great potential, and Nissan did a great job in regards to how they enhanced the engine's performance: improved efficiency as opposed to doing the half-assed way of simply increasing displacement. Those who think the new engine won't be as good as the last two for N/A mods are girly-men

So they change the hood and now the 350Z isn't a very good looking car?

Honda may be rev-happy but at least the Z still has TQ.

No they are not the same:
rev up engines part# 11140-AC700
non rev up engines part# 11140-AM603
2007 VQ35HR part# 11140-JK20B this also has a dipstick tube, earlier ones did not

The new VQ35HR has a small bung and a tube in the upper portion of the aluminum oil pan, the older ones just had a hole in the driver side head cylinder.
