Default Test Drove a 2007 350z today

So I test drove the 07 today. I will be the first to say that I loved the hood before I even test drove it, but when I saw it in person and in a sideview I was a little put off by it. It is not hideous but it is not attractive from sideview either. It looks great in a 3/4 shot though...

Anyway, about performance. I took the car to about 6800 rpms and the car was strong the entire way through except from the start. Maybe it is the clutch being so new but it kind of bogs in 1st gear. So from a standing still at a stoplight we were going to get on the freeway, and it was just soooo amazing... I was just punching through the gears and I looked down and I was like holy crap 90 already. I took it up to about 120 and it felt rock solid the entire way.

By the way there is no way the car is 306 hp. It has got to be alot more than that because the car is just sooo damn fast. Using my butt-o-meter I would say that 0-60 is about 4.9 seconds because it couldnt have been more than 10 seconds to get up to 120. Anyway... getting the numbers for that car right now. I am thinking that I am going to get it but only if the numbers are right.

So there is my critique.

I hope you don't mean 10 seconds to get up to 120 from a stop... just messing with ya.

Another one satisfied with the HR

Figure the 287 hp engine is maybe 275-280 under the new standards, so the engine is up maybe 25-30 hp, which should be noticeable.

im just concerned with the redesign of the engine... i hate buying first year cars for this reason alone... 80 percent engine redesign scares me a little bit...

wait at least a few months, I would say the 04.5-05 are the only years without annoying issues, let someone else find any bugs.

i never thought second gear felt rough in the 03-06s ... but it is the same transmission so if you thought it felt rough before chances are you will think it is rough now

I was up at a Nissan dealer on friday to follow up my oil consumption test and asked bout the 07 Zs! I was lucky they had just gotten them in, they werent even on the for sale lot, still with all the plastic on the rims and blah.
I checked out the engine and looks bigger ........bigger then minez lol I did crank it up and revd it. I was kinda surprised that it sounded softer then the previous models.
