dibs on those haha
my friend lost control the same way he was on his way to a ski trip on his rsx driving 80mph on the last 5th lane when he hit a puddle and lost control. he had a cracked engine that was welded back. everytime we go somewhere he never drives on the far last lane anymore

oh btw... they were Nitto 555s 275's on the rear and 245's on the front... Brand new rubber... and YES, I have a base w/ no VDC or TCS... wish I had it? Sure...maybe it would have made a difference. Especially since the ABS wasn't any help... For the person who included "LSD"... an LSD is irrelevant in circumstances such as hydroplanning...
For those w/ the concerns and positive remarks thank you. I would hope none of you would have to go through this and to those that have, you know what I mean. As a matter of fact I wish I could blame it on myself or driving etc... but noones fault here. Its a great car regardless, stuff happens... I'm not going to blame it on the fact that it didnt have VDC etc...
Maybe in the future if my car gets hit by a meteorite I can blame it on the car because I failed to get the optional force shield...
Good luck to you all and your Zs... Hopefully I'll can be back!

Very sorry to hear about your shunt. Glad your Z gave it up to protect you- there's a past thread on this very subject:

Would you have wrecked if you were traveling 50mph? What about 40mph? You chose the speed. You were driving the car, nobody else. You do know that speed limit signs mean "as conditions allow"???? When it's raining.... you do the speed limit at your own risk.... just like when I decide to kick it up to 135mph in an afternoon shower, I do that when nobody is around, when I can see a mile in front of me, when I know the conditions, and best of all.... at my own risk. Do you drive 60mph on snow and ice because of the speed LIMIT? It was YOUR fault! I gave you credit for "manning up" to begin with but now you're saying it wasn't your fault because some people flamed you. Was god driving your car? If so, then say no more.
BTW.... I've heard that nitto 555's are horrendous in the rain.... the added width surely didn't help.... the fact it was brand new rubber leads me to believe you just found that out the hard way... usually when you try out new rubber... you have to be careful until you get a good feel for them... rubber can make or break your car... literally.

Wider tires are worse in the rain/snow.

Yeah, I heard that Nitto isn't that good on wet especially if you have wide tires. Let it be a lesson for you (in a good way) to look for tires that has better traction on wet
and No, I don't think VDC would really help when you hydrofloat .... in fact, imo, it would interfere with the way u drivin...
