A good book to read is "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell

http://www.amazon.com/Maximum-Boost-.../dp/0837601606

It will answer many of your questions...

Boosting is when you get behind a slower car and push it from behind to make it go faster (hence the name boosting).....

Don't confuse tire pressure psi with boosting.... two totally different things.

The 350Z has seats which are deep and sometimes it is hard to see over the steering wheel. Boost is the amount of extra height needed to overcome this obstacle.

Many folks have boost gauges which measure this extra seat height in inches. Sometimes seats will "sag" and a boost controller will be needed to stabalize it...
