Default Newbie question about warranty

Hi, I recently purchased a used 05 ppw 6spd touring. I found several things that bug me with the car and would like to get it fixed. Would my existing warranty cover for it? I didn't buy any kind of extended warranty they offered my at the dealership. I don't want to be laughed at by the dealership, so here are my questions. I have the ticking sound on the passenger side of the engine bay at idle. I have the squeaky leather seats. I have the "cluttery" (knocking) sound when I press on the clutch after take-off (going about 15 mph at around 3k rpm and then press on the clutch to shift) when it's a little chilly outside. But after about 20 minutes of driving it kinda goes away...kinda. My tire pressure gauge doesn't read anything, just ---, everything is still stock, with just over 10k miles. Can all these problems be fixed at the warranty's expense?? Please don't flame for the weird questions. Thanks in advance.

I don't know if some of those are big enough problems to be fixed or if they can be fixed.

You do however still have the 36mo/36k mile warrantly that covers mostly everything.

I haven't heard of this. Can you pinpoint the sound? Does it sound like a belt hitting something?

I have the squeaky leather seats.

Most likely normal wear-and-tear.

It sounds like the dealer swapped wheels and never recalibrated the TPS. Or your wheels don't have TPS in them.

You can probably take the car in under warranty and have them check the TPS at no cost.

Go to www.nissanhelp.com , then go to 2005 350z and click "bulletins" and you will see all the technical service bulletin (TSB) and read up on them. Some of them sounds like what you are experiencing with your 350z. If your car is still insured, which it should be, give them a print out of the TSB with the TSB number. The service guy should be more than happy to help you since you will save him some time on figuring out what your car problems are...

I did this and got all of my little annoying problems resolved with my dealer. I also bought my 350z used with 6,400 miles on it.

I have the squeaky leather seats.

Id get some armor all and get that shat done in 2 min tops. Easy fix, and time to fix it depends on the speed of your hand.

The short answer is YES- you can and should take your Z into the dealer. As others have posted, the 3/36 warranty may or may not cover all the problems. You may have to leave the car with them overnight to try to get some of the problems to reoccur. I'd be prepared for some items- the "squeaky" leather seats come to mind- to NOT be covered under warranty. Good luck and enjoy your Z!

Did you buy the car from a private party or Nissan dealer? If it was a Nissan dealer, he is apt to take care of the problems. Just leave the car, and ask them to call to approve any charges

BTW what are squeaking leather seats?

I met to say squeaky seats

I did buy it from a nissan dealership, it's kind of far, should ANY nissan dealership do or do i HAVE to take it to the one i bought it from?

Regarding the comment on using armor all... what part of the seat do I fix? I saw this little plastic piece that came from under the seat. I don't know if something broke off or it came from somewhere else. Can you describe to me what you did to fix the squeaky noise. Thanks

Any dealer can take of TSB's but the dealer you bought it from is more likely to hassle you less.

My 03 seat has a weird squeek too. Only during sharp turns but it's really hard to describe.
