Do you guys drive when it is below 0 outside?
Cold temperatures are no more a factor with the Z than other Nissan models
Nissan wisely decided to use common components and parts across their entire line of cars and trucks just a few years ago. Most of the models share engines, transmissions, and other parts. If you believe you can drive an Altima or a Maxima in the winter months and in cold weather, then you can drive the Z in the same conditions. The important thing is tires. Use winter tires and you’re fine. Of course, snow accumulation above 3 or 4 inches affect a car (as the Z) with low clearance.

If your Z survives in Alaska, then mine shall be fine.
BTW, I only run on winter tires in winter, with a lot of slushy-snow days here it would be total carelessness to run summer or all season tires.

Yes I drive when the temperature is below freezing. No big deal.
Allow the motor to reach operating temperature before accelerating.
The tires may have a flat spot from sitting overnight. After several hundred feet they will be round again.

I drive mine year round and it has been fine, but I use a set of snows for the winter months as has been suggested before. Just let it warm up a bit and I would think it is fine. I run synthetic oil, but not sure that that is any better than regular dinosaur since it is more the ability of the oil to coat the internal parts of the engine during inital startup that causes the most wear, synthetic is just better against thermal breakdown. I would say the Z isn't any worse than any other car starting up in the dead of winter. And yeah, my car is hard to shift into 2nd as well for a while.
Anyone else put additional weight in the rear to help traction during winter?
I used to put at least 50 pounds of stuff in the trunk in the 240sx. Combine that with winter tires and me driving slower than great grandma, I have never been in an accident in the snow.

Come on guys, ITS STILL SUMMER! Stop all this cold weather, freezing our asses off, un-drivable car talk. Brrrrrrrrrr! Z is ok in the freezing cold, just avoid driving in snowstorms. It can be done, but I don't recommend it.
