Having RESPECT for fellow Z owners?
Hey guys, I don't know if this thread is already out there but I just have to express myself. I am in the motorcycle scene (Kawasaki ZX6R) and one thing i learned in the scene is that we take care/respect each other. When we see another rider roll by we will give them a salute or a nod. Well, I have gotten so accustom to that type of respect that I do it to other Z Owners as well. Or at least I try! If I see another Z I would flash my headlights or wave or salute them in one way or another.
but guess what they do? They maddog me or better yet they try to act hard.
revving there engine or whatnot. I was just wondering what are your feedbacks on this type of situation? Do you guys pay your respects to other Z owners? I would say that out the 3 years I lived in San Diego I can count the number of Z's that actually gave respect back. 2
Give your feedback, I wanna know what people are thinking!

At first when I did not see 10 Z's a day on the freeway sure id throw da salute.............Now days all I see are 50+ year olds cruising thier leases. If I could make a sign for sell your car I would flash them that.
If the car were truely special a wave would be justified, but as the car is mass produced and in production it isn't.
You should be glad there are so many around, it ensures a lively aftermarket bussiness and used parts from junkyards in a few years.

i do try to salute some of the Z-owners around here.
some of them wave back or flash lights back at me
and some of them just dont do anything.
i have salute some of the G-owners and they are just like w/e.
G owners around here act too cocky.

I usually throw a wave or thumbs up depending on what they have done to it but i definetly dont rev my engine and act a fool. I've noticed a few of the G owners being cocky myself but i've gotten a few waves out of them as well.
I wouldn't have thought a newer vette should get a wave, even though it costs considerably more than our Zs.
I don't want feel obligated to wave to anyone I don't know, I have enough real friends. I return waves, but honestly, a line has to be drawn somewhere. It's just a car.

i wave usually, but don't expect anything in return...90% of Z owners are douches...they just think the car looks good, so they lease it or something...not a lot of actual enthusiasts

I mainly wave at the fine MILF I see driving them.

do you wave at the guy in the mall that has Air Jordans? I mean hell, you have so much in common, you BOTH have the same style shoe. You should avoid the rush and just get a room now....

Maybe it is the big aluminum ricer wing you have on the back of your Z's that makes them maddog you?

I can see it a little more with the motorcycles (I own a CBR600RR) just because it's something totally different and universal, and has a whole different mindset. I'll get waves from guys on sport bikes, cruisers, even mopeds (But I don't usually wave back to those
)
I think with cars, it's just too common. Having a Corvette in America is a pretty big deal. There's quite a few around, but it's a classic brand that is priced to be some what exclusive. Driving a Z? It's a nice car, but it doesn't really have the "prestige" if you will around the entire country.
