Before my accident, I drove normal, and by that I mean within the speedlimit and never had a worry. No crazy accelerations or anything like that. After the accident, I drive less than the speedlimit in rain and I always feel like I am hydroplaning. I can't explain it.
06 tires aren't any better. They are the same crap as the previous years. End of story. If you driver supercareful, then you should be fine with the stock ones, but like I said, sometimes you never know. I thought I was driving supercareful, but apparently not careful enough.

My situation was that I hit a large puddle on the freeway that had to be at least 3" deep but probably more. My front wheels JERKED suddenly to the right (I was in the far left lane) and then I hydroplaned, to the left lane, but the car kept its nose straight ahead. I would've recovered if it wasn't for nicking the rear end of a minivan from a driver that was not paying attention (or else maybe she could have helped out and sped up to avoid a collision). Lucky this was a Sunday morning with very few cars on the road or it could have been a much worse disaster. My rear tires, I did not realize being only about 9k miles old, were bald (Pirelli P-Zero Assimetricos).
