Default questions for 03 owners

o.k I have done some searching and the only major concern I have for purchsing an 03 is the tranny .In my case I cannot afford the jump to an 05!
The question I have is has nissan ever put out a number or % of cars affected with tranny trouble.i realize on a forum like this you will get more noise from the unhappy camp.
What I would like is for all 03 owners to give feedback either you have had the issue or not and the mileage on your car.
Thanks

Had my tranny replaced on my 03 last week with the CD009 @ 21k miles. 3rd gear started grinding around 19k.

Edit: Btw this is really a non issue for anything else. You either have it replaced under the powertrain warranty or you pay out of pocket.

I think the front tire issue is worse than the tranny issue. I got my front end fixed and 20K miles later still no issues.

Powertrain coverage is 5 year/60,000 miles.

3 years 36k is bumper to bumper. The powertrain warranty is 5 years 60K.

I don't know for sure but it isn't cheap. My buddy was quoted 750 for labor by Nissan to drop his tranny and replace his clutch. That was labor only. If you are out of the powertrain then you would have to factor in the cost of an entire tranny because no dealership is willing to fix just the syncros or open the tranny up.

wow, you need to drive your car! On a side note...

My 03' under warranty:
New Longblock at 48K
New Tranny at 56K
New Clutch at 56K

Oh and all the TSB's and recalls but whos complaining? I bought an 03' with 46K on it and 2,000 miles later I pretty much end up with a brand new car for under 20K!
