Default Fill up

So I took the ZR on a recent road trip and about 60 miles from home my fuel light came on. I drove it another 60 miles, then the DTE started flashing, drove it another 20 miles and decided to be safe and fill it up,

Put in 17.9 gallons and the miles driven was 384, Guess I had another 40 or so miles to go before empty! And $45 ****ing dollars later,

Averaged 21.4 all highway MPG with an average speed of 74 MPH! ZR's are heavy, Was hoping for around 24! Anyone put in more than 18 gallons, how long did you drive with it flashing?

My dte came up on a Monday morning on my way to work...i drove it right through the flashing dashes till friday night. I probably put 120 miles on it when the low gas light first came on till the point when i actually got gas.

I just put in 17.9 last night and paid $48 even. My gas light was on the entire day. I drove to school which is about 7-8 miles, drove to work which is about 25 miles from school, then drove all the way to the downtown area the scenic route which is like 30-40 miles, then drove back home the normal way which is in the 20s somewhere.

Guess you didn't read my thread, , it was all highway miles. I could have put about 400 but I have a ZR and get lower MPG, around 21-22 on the highway at 75-80 cruising speed!

Slow your roll on the cruising speed and you'll see that climb. ZR's are heavy, but not THAT much heavier. I've seen upwards of 28mpg in 6th gear.

I think the most I've gotten is around 17.9 gallons on a fillup. I can't remember if I've eclipsed 18 or not.

I always fill up immidietialy when my light comes on. I guess I'll think I'm gong to run out of fuel in the middle of the road and have to call AAA. How many miles do you usually get once the DTE starts to flash, anyone know?

What did you expect driving 85? Just because the speed limit is high, doesn't mean you have to drive that fast. Do 65 and get 25+ mpg. That's how the highway mileage is rated anyway, isn't it?
