You need to be a Premier Member to use a custom avatar, but you can choose from a set of avatars if you go to members and click "edit avatar."

Im a premium member at the forum I go to all the time( probably 40+ visits a day) I pay to support that site. If I get a 350Z, I will definitly pay to support this site as well. Sure the owners make money from the traffic... but forums don't pay for themselves. Think of it like this, you help pay for this forum... it sort of belongs to YOU too and you want it to be the best damn forum, so why not support it to have great vendors, people, and the little perks.

By trying to engage me in an intellecutal debate, you are bringing a knife to a gunfight. I don't have to pay to go on a single thread on this site to feel cosmopolitan and exclusive...move out of your mother's basement, loser.
Other forums provide discounts, access to vendors, group buys, etc. without charging a monthly fee ($1-$1,000 it doesn't matter) and another site, I am a member of, has a much more sophisticated search feature than this site. How do you explain that? And as for the "Make this site the best" argument, with d!ckheads like dozzer1b as members--you can throw all the money in the world at this site but keep in mind that it is the members who make a site enjoyable. As for the whole "Common Ownership" argument, do you guys get profit sharing from the surplus revenue this site generates? Do you guys have a say in who to sell advertisment blocs to? If the answer is "no," then you do not possess any legal ownership of this site. Telling you that you should "consider" youselves as part-owners is an opiate for the masses as long as you keep up with your montly payments. Tsk. Tsk.
