Sat in Z today...Herb Gordon in Silver Spring, MD
I was able to see the Z today in Silver Spring, MD as well as meet some fellow my350z'ers.....some quick impressions:
Wow...the car looks BIG in person....not to mention amazing...this car is really going to turn some heads. It was a blue base model. This car must be seen in person to truely appricate how great it looks.
Interior....quite roomy...I'm 6'3" 220lbs...and I felt fine just fine inside....had head room to spare...plenty of leg room...seats felt fantasic....while the side windows are a bit higher than most cars i definately didn't feel as if i was in a bath tub (as one review stated)....and I was quite pleased with the build quality and materials...the only thing i didn't like was the NAV compartment door...which was quite cheap feeling and difficult to close. Hopefully they had time between April (when this car was built) and June (when production started) to fix this minor issue. Other than that i was very pleased with both the look and feel of everything.
The visiblity from the drivers seat was quite good....i agree w/ the Sport Z Magazine review that the view into the "blind spot", when turning to your head to the left is fantastic due to the positioning of the "B pillar" (further back than most cars).
I took more than 50 high-res pictures with my digital camera....if Jmanz or someone else would like to host them i'd be more than happy to send them.
I can't wait till the end of August

Gaithersburg and Ellicott City, huh? I used to live in Columbia - I still have a sister who lives there. Glad you got to see one, blueshift! Unfortunately, one will be in Phoenix tomorrow, and I only live 3 hours away, but I cannot get out of work to go see it, so I guess I will have to wait until mine comes in sometime in September.
Hope you enjoyed your chance, cause I know missing what is probably my only chance is gonna bum me out until the time I get to sit in my own Daytona Blue Touring 6MT

Nice to meet another member out in the world.
It's kind of funny how you said the car looks BIG. I kind of thought it looked just right. When I looked at the Z06 I thought it looked TOO WIDE.
The Z might look BIG next to the Z3/S2000, but not next to a camero/mustang/corvette, In fact I would say it is nearly the same size as the 911. Just right for us big people.

I definately meant BIG in a good way...from pictures i've always thought it looked a little on the small size, but seeing it in person....made all those fears go away.
Just bigger than my expectation, which is fantastic

Man, why the hell is everyone who sits in the damn car over 6'???? I guess Nissan was brilliant in catering the car for tall people. I just want to see what someone that is 5'7" (my height) looks like sitting in the car

Seems people are getting bigger and bigger all the time, our grandkids are all gonna be like 6'6" or larger.
blueshift, you're the man ! I live right outside Ellicott City, I ordered a 350Z, and I also own a Mac
P.S. - I ordered from Herb Gordon and they didn't even tell me the car was going to be there. If you hear it coming up near Baltimore, let me know.

I heard it was in Laurel today, Tischer Nissan I believe. I emailed my salesman and asked him if he knew where it's going to be in the near future - I'll keep the MD/DC/VA people posted if I hear anything.
I had a tape measure...but didn't think to use it to check that
Um...I'd say about 2 inches to spare....I've seen a photograph of someone on the Virginia Raceway in a 350Z with a helmet on.

Here's a snip from an email from my salesman at Sheehy Nissan in Annapolis:
I went to a Regional Sales Meeting in Baltimore today and had a chance to see the Z and it is as impressive as all of the ads. We will have a car in over the next two weeks and as soon as I know the dates I will let you know.
I'll keep you all posted!
