Having owned 2 recent German cars I can understand your affection for it's looks. I actually considered a TT Quattro but I could and still can not get past the fact that the front and rear of the car look too similar. Otherwise, from what I understand, it is a wonderful sport coupe, not sports car. If a TT is what flips your lid, I say "Beat of Luck to You" and (joke) "I'll see you in my rear view mirror".

 

Zapta.. Its hard to believe that there is only one Nissan Dealer where you live.. I did look around and did find it for MSRP after a little of work.. But if you have your heart set on the TT.. then go for it.. Good Luck with it..

 

Haha..cool. I always see a guy driving a TT passing my place while going to work around 9. He has a huge garfield doll stuck on his rear windshield. Everytime my sister looks at it she goes, "Cute!" and asks for one. Not sure if she is asking for the car or the Garfield.

 

That's amazing its a bad point... that is one of the reasons I LOVE the car. I think the rear strut looks incredible. And you cannot go for the "it takes up room" argument with me... if I wanted lots of cargo room, I would have purchased a family truckster.

Zapta,,,,, The TT is a very cool car. I looked at them for awhile, but they did seems too expensive, $39k. This was the only sports car i fit in. I love how the seats sink down about 3 inches.
Plus the room in the back, i was going to remove the rear seats and i was betting i could fit my mountian bike back there, after removing the front tire. I have no problems with the TT at all, good choice and nice price. Enjoy your free Maintenance,and all wheel drive. Plus anyone that hasnt seen this car in person, 225 coupe with rear wing, should before calling it a girl, cute car. I think it is very classy and tough looking.

Who cares if he gets an Audi TT... that doesn't affect the drivability of the 350Z.

It's his money, his decision, his car... let that be a lesson for the Nissan dealer trying to overcharge him.

 

i would blame the nissan dealer rather than him, i just have to say sometime american dealers are getting too greedy~~

that's y i love the canadian dealers~LOL~

 

Also, thats just one less new Z to flood the streets in the next 3 months. TT, Vette, Boxster - it doesn't matter what car you get - you could get an old Hyundai Excel or Yugo for all I care. If its what you like and what you can afford, then get it, be happy, and don't worry about what others say (except for us 350Z drivers)!

I was checking out the audi early this spring and the convertible tt was 42K. I don't know why you would bother with a coupe when a vert is available. Anyway I was thinking about jumping on one because it was available NOW. I posted it on this or one of the other forums where a member pointed me to the ihatemyaudi website, that was all I needed.

I just tryed the site and it didn't work for me but someone should warn you about the 13-17 different electrical failures these new audi tt's are subject to. Most of them begin within the first 30k miles if not sooner.

Zapata, I would check with members in the audi forums and find out the low down on this car before I signed on the dotted line, seriously.

 

Im glad he got the Audi. In fact, I would recommend anyone against getting the Z.

Well I'm not. I just want my car to be that much more exclusive when I get mine.

 

The reliability of a lot of German cars has taken a nose dive over the last 5-10 years to my amazement. You used to be able to take reliability for granted in these upscale cars. Now, you read Consumer Reports and find out about the recalls, failures and initial quality reports and wonder what is going on? The last Audi A4 is a good example: rave reviews from Consumer Reports at the beginning and being taken off the recommended list because the quality had dropped too far a couple of years later. There are several other brands I have noticed tailing off after they had been out awhile.

Reliability is very important to me because I take my cars to the dealer for everything, with one or two exceptions. As my wife says, I want somebody to sue if they screw up. I decided against a 330iC because there are only 2 dealers in Oklahoma, OKC(30 miles) and Tulsa(135 miles). If I have a problem with the dealer, I'm screwed for service and they don't seem to care as long as they can move their product. I'm not painting all German cars with the same brush but, I am left wondering what's going on?
I know several of our members own multiple cars and some German cars. Have any of you experienced the same problems I've been reading about?

9 services in the past 2 1/2 years for my 2000 BMW 323ci. Never will I buy a BMW again!

 

My little sister, my brother-in-law and myself all bought BMWs in the summer of 2000. None of us has had any problems. It will be hard to draw a conclusion from such a small sampling of people, especially on a board devoted to a competing brand. I would follow some others suggestion and spend some time on a large board populated by owners of any brand you're looking at. The more opinions, the more valid the observations.
