Default What was "Z" influence?

Hi everyone.... I'm the recent, and proud owner of a 2004 Super Black Touring and have been loving the experience since day one.

I might get flamed for this but I must admit that after watching Tokyo Drift well over a dozen times I was a shoe in for a 350z, yet being 6'5" I steered clear of cars this size - boy I missed out on a lot!!

What influenced others in picking up their ride? Or even future owners of this beast?

I've loved the Z since it was rereleased.. but I remember seeing that commerical with the redline 350z that had the Nismo wing driving through the city and I couldn't wait to get one.

This is my first Z and my first Nissan, but I like it a lot. I've always liked the looks of older gen Z models and other Datsuns as well. I still want a 510 or a 280Z. I couldnt afford a 350Z when they came out so I waited a few years and this time last year I was signing the dotted line on my 03.

im 19 and im going to buy one next spring. the only reason im not buying it now is because i want to save up close to half of what the Z is worth for a down payment so my monthly payments wont kill me and since my insurance will be around $230 per month. basically, im getting one because i think its the sexiest and overall most reliable/cost efficient option at this point in my life.

After driving camaros and mustangs since i was 18 and a 4x4 for the last 4 years (im 27 now) i really missed having a sports car so i started shopping around and chevy/ford/dodge really have nothing exciting out in the way of sports cars (corvette excluded i dont have that kind of money )

so i started looking at other car companies and the 350z was the best balance of performance, looks, comfort and affordability. After much reading/research, mostly from these forums, i made the plunge and bought mine, i dont miss my truck one bit.

The Z is a blast to drive and i'm itchin to take it out on a long road trip and find some wide open strech of road to have a lil fun on

My dad had 2 280's and a 300 and when the Z came out I absoloutely loved the way it looked. Theres some cars that I looke at and think "how can I not own one of those". Luckly the Z was probably the only car in my price range that made me think that.

I had a WRX before and I got sick of the off on turbo lag, lack of low end, and the POS transmission.

Between STi and 350Z. I picked the Z because the interior in the STi is HORRENDOUS! not even worth the extra push in the seat.

What honestly got me was when I saw "The Run" in the movie theater one night back in 2002 The growl of the exhaust on the theater surround made me dizzy, and I knew that the Z was the car I had been waiting for!

I had a 280Z and a 300Z (non-turbo). Both cars were great. I started seeing the 350Z concepts showing up at the auto shows and fell in love with it 1st site.
