So what do your girlfriends/wives think about modding?

yeah more money to spend on the z and you wont have to worry about spending 45k on a ring
Technically, if he was making 270k+, 45k for a ring is within the 2 month's salary rule. :P
oneDIRTYz, I'm sure lots of people out there look at us spending money on our cars and think we're ludicrous too. People have different priorities--if he's happy spending 45k on a ring, who are we to judge?

I told her it's not when I am modding that she should worry, it's when I stop modding.
She cared at first, but now she actually likes modding. As a matter of fact, she's debating on mods for her car also, lol.

No one is "judging" him. She simply said that she believes that 45k for a ring is a waste. nothing more, nothing less.

It was the diamond companies that came up with the "2 months salary rule" for another one of their marketing ploys.
IMHO it is just ludicrous to spend that kind of money on a ring regardless of your salary. There are plenty of women out there that would agree.

once again you are reading too far into a simple forum comment. You must be under a lot of stress. Learn to let things go.

I guess I'm not allowed to offer any counter point to a comment.
it was an opinion, and i'm glad that other people shared it with me.
yes, it was a judgement on my part. he could be bill freaking gates for all i care, i'd still think 45k [or really, any amount] is ludicrous for a ring.
it's personal taste, but i don't like or wear jewelry, besides 3 gold bangles that hold sentimental value and were passed down among the women in my family.
i dont like diamonds, i dont like pearls. i dont like putting incredible value in rocks and metals and pieces of sand when there are people in the world who are living without fresh water. YES it was a judgement on my part, and i'm sorry if he takes offense to it, but it's the MEN out there that perpetuate women's obsession with jewels. stop buying them this **** and they'll stop expecting it.

OH and also for the record, that 2 month rule is EVEN MORE LUDICROUS.
why are you people letting corporations run your lives...willingly? i mean if you were ignorant to the fact, or helpless to do otherwise, like most of us are [we're slaves to food corps, oil corps, etc etc] then i understand. but to fork over 2 months+ worth of salary for something that fits on a person's FINGER because that's what is expected of you, it's a standard set by DIAMOND COMPANIES.........jesusssssssssss
ok dammit, i'm getting entirely too worked up about this. [/rant]
