Got my 07 hit Today
So basically where I work you have to parralel park on the street unless you've been there a really long time. Well today I come back from lunch, park on the street about 4-5 feet away from the car infront of me so that person has room to get out comfortably. So much for that
, I turn the car off and I'm putting my ipod away when I look up and notice the person infront of me reversing fast as hell. Only thing I had time to do was honk the horn and then she slams her brakes but still hits me. I get out ask if her if shes alright, then look at my car...currently its dirty so I cant really see anything. Looks fine, but even she notices that its dirty and says she cant see anything but if anything does come up when I wash it to let her know. To make things worse for her some coworkers see this and say "Ouch he just got that car"
.
My old car when something similar happened it ended up cracking the paint and the styrofoam piece behind the bumper. Is there something I should look for? I'm not gonna be an *** about it and try to get her to pay for something trivial but at the same time I dont wanna find out later on that somethings busted that shouldve been fixed. Im thinking(hoping?) everythings fine and I'm just overreacting.
I know I may be sounding a bit obsessed but seriously it pisses me off cause it was just carelessness that cause it.
End rant...

My friend's car got hit and the adjuster didn't catch the fact that the power steering line was pinched. Whenever the car was driven the line would heat up and stay sealed, but when he went on vacation for a week the Z sat in the garage. When he took it out when he got back the power steering line broke when he was taking a turn and caused him to f up his car even more. Luckily insurance is covering it but it was scary because his car was almost totalled between the two incidents.
If you want to be safe, have a guy at a shop you trust check it out after the claims adjuster does.
When an incident like this occurs, immediately exchange information. If the car has a minor scratch that can be taken care of with wax, then do it yourself.

Bad news, two scratches evenly spaced on my front end. Not to mention the middle part is scuffed up, paint feels rough with white specs visible (my car is black). Tried wax/buff no dice.
We work for the same company so I'll have to go chat with her tommorow. She may just wanna pay out of pocket instead of insurance since shes fairly young.
Thanks all for the tips. Was about to slap on my Volks and take pics

She will probably be better off going with her insurance.
If the paint is scuffed up then whole bumper should be removed and painted. My friend had the same exact thing happen to his 07 WRX and the body shop just fixed the area that was hit. His car is black to, but you can tell the fix isn't right because the black is a little off.
To match paint and do the job right, they should take the entire bumper off and sand/prep and paint the whole thing. My friend got it fixed the right way and now you can't tell it was ever hit, but it took 3 weeks to get it done right.
Best of luck to ya
Cheers

I am not trying to be an ***, but if I were you, I would just report to insurance and have them deal with it. You want the body shop to do a tear down to look inside the bumper. You dont want to let it go now, but later on find out your paint is messed up.
Time to upgrade to Version 2 bumper?? good luck

The real question is can you have enough sex with her that the damage outweighs the cost to fix?
Honestly, sounds like it is more of an out-of-pocket expense for her. Of course she can file but up go her rates.
