Default oem tire wear and extended tire/wheel warranty

Hi all,
I just wanted to get a sense of how longs (miles) your oem tires and what intensity of driving you guys did. Also, did you guys encounter many problems from "road hazards"?

The reason I ask is that I turned down the extended wheel and tire warranty from the dealership, and the guy there was making it seem like the tires would bubble and get messed up in no time and that I was an idiot for not getting the warranty b/c "it would pay for itself". Thanks.

I drive moderate mostly with some sprinted driving. Also have 4-5 autocrosses on the oem tires. I've got 16k and I suspect I will get another 5-8k out of them. I've been happy with the oem tires, rain/dry I've had no trouble at all.

Over the past 2 years I have ruined 2 rear tires because of nails. Replacement cost: $400.

Only get the extend tire warranty if you are running run flats, those for some reason cannot be patched.

I work at costco so all my flats get fixed for free! and I don't have to worry about who is working on my car because they are my fellow employees and friends. Perks of the job...
