Much like learning how to drive manual, you will make mistakes and do more harm than good.

Spoolin, so lets see here. You are 23 (if not younger), and you have owned 8 cars according to you. Lets say you started driving at 16. So, you have been driving roughly six to seven years. So basically you are saying that you have had a different car roughly every 10 months since age 16?
Yeah, ok. Yeah, right. Why is it that nothing you say adds up? Clown.

I bought my first car at 17 on McDonald's wages in high school :P I'm now 20.
I've owned (or, the bank has owned ;P):
2004 Celica GTS
2004 Neon SRT-4
1993 Camaro Z28
And now a 2004 Grand Am (ugh).
In about 12-14 months, I will have my Z. You can't stop me.
So, that's 4 cars in 3 years... I can see 8 cars in 6-7 years.
wow that must be a good time... I had an 05 G6 for over a year and the end result?? I am still paying GMAC 6K on it and I haven't owned the car for over a year now. How the hell do you manage to buy them and get out from under them that often??

Well a couple of them were bought and sold a month later purely to make a profit. I averaged about $1800 profit amongst each car I sold.
I work hard and save for what i want, I've been driving for around 6.5 years now and have only lost money on one car (damn mazda). I made about 2500 on my cobra when it was totalled.
I don't know what else to tell you and I don't even know why I have to prove myself....
It has absolutely nothing to do with this thread.

Then why in the hell are you so worried about babying the syncros if you actually change cars like you change your underwear??
You just don't make any sense at all.

I think you meant to address another member.
Again, reading comprehension puts a beat down on you.
Heheh, no, I don't double-clutch. Waste of time/effort for me - rev matching is more than enough.
Also, I've never been out from under any of those cars, really...
Bought the Celica new (big mistake)
Traded it (upside-down) on the SRT-4
Sold the SRT-4 Private party and picked up the Z28 from the same (taking another loan to pay off the rest of the SRT-4, which part of the bill belonged to the leftover from the Celica...
Then traded in the Z28 on the Grand Am (taking a fresh loan on the GA).
So, I'm about $23 grand in debt right now. 8 grand being for a Z28 I no longer own :P
Oh, and a co-signer with good credit = new cars for you!
Just make sure you can make the payments, or find a way to get out of it without hurting the other person's credit. Or they will kill you.
Annnndd.. since we're on the subject - I had no tranny trouble with any of the cars.
Learned stick (mostly) on the Celica (6MT), put about 40k miles on it in 1.5 years >.<
The SRT-4(5MT) had 30-40k miles on it (bought used), and the Z28(6MT) had about 160k miles. The shifting felt sloppy in it, but a short-throw took care of that!
The GA is auto.
The most boring car there is...
GA: 3.4L V6... 170 HP
Celica: 1.8L 4 cyl... 180 HP
>.<

At this point I'm reminded of the last line in the "Ferris Bulher's (sp?) Day Off" movie.
Ferris is walking back to his room and, looking back over his shoulder, sees the audience (the camera) still watching. He turns and says "Its over, go home, go home".
This thread is long since over, go home, go home!!

My cobra was also in very good shape before it was totaled.
Most of the boring cars didn't stay in my hands for very long (between 1-6 months) however I had the cobra for almost 2 years and I had the stealth for 2.5. I just bought the Z this past weekend.
People who switch cars that often are financially unstable. And have no common sense in the funds area. I switch cars often, but no less than a year. I am also almost twice your ages and can afford it. lol.

So now you think I'm poor...
Are there any other conclusions you guys want to draw?
