If I had to guess, I will need new fronts every 12-13k miles. I will look at remedying this with alignment or aftermarket suspension (which, for all I know, the previous owner may have done), but if neither of those work, I will just replace the fronts every 12k miles. I love this car to death, and I would not consider trading or selling. I have bonded with the car.
The tire problem is ingratiating. I would admit that to anyone who asked me about it. The thing is, I can get two Kumho ECSTA ASXs for $188 total. That really isn't **** to me. My main concerns revolve around safety.
With the rest of the drivetrain being apparently rock solid (in my car anyway) and the fact that I will baby it most of the time, I think I'm in for an enjoyable experiment.

Feathering looks like cupping on the inside of the tire and your tires will roar when you drive down the road.

Michelin PS2s. They were on there when I got her. I've heard such good stuff about the Kumhos though that I will try them next.
i got my 2003 used w/ 13k miles on it-people basically thought it was new. tire feathering was gone with tire replacement and alignment.
window streaks were fixed for free at the dealer in a couple of hours (probably only took them 30 min of actual labor)
I had a problem with the hatch not opening with one press of the button so i brought it in to 1 dealer that wouldn't fix it, and another dealer that fixed it under warranty. if you run in to a problem at one dealership just go find another!
i had some kumho supra ecsta 712s (i think) and they were horrible on the back of my turbo sc300 (about 2 yrs ago)
i love the bfgs on my z
