Default Im out. Too many clams.

Ok guys, I'm out. Im selling my 2005 350 for a 2006 Chevy Silvarado 4x4. I first bought my base z for modding. I have learned that I cant afford FI. I wanted to go procharger or greddy twin turbo this car but Im to scared. All I see are posts that I blew my motor, or my cars out of commission for 3-6 weeks while I save 10k for a built block. I dont want to blow another one.....crap like that. I dont need that, hell I dont even own a house yet.

If you can convince me otherwise feel free. Im probaly going to go buy the 2006 truck this weekend or next.

My 2005 Redline only has 21000 miles on it. Borla TD, MD spacer, and Injen intake. Not enough for me. I need 400+hp but also want a reliable daily driver. I dont see it happening.

been stock for 4.5 years(for lack of $) and it still keeps me smiling. Perhaps you should have just got a truck from the start.

if you need convincing you dont need a Z

The mod stuff will be expensive no matter what.
If you do the FI right the first time, you shouldn't have a problem.
The big question is do you enjoy the car and can you take your time on the mods. I didn't go FI for over 2 years but enjoyed my Z the whole time.
Just didn't want to rush things and in return, everything's gone very well since.

No one said modding was cheap. I usually blow $15-20k on each car I build.
If you wanna do it right, gotta have deep pockets

Go boost, keep it at stock levels, and GET A GOOD TUNE. Don't abuse the car and you will be fine. For every person that blows their motor, there are probably two or three that are running fine.

You'd have to be an idiot to spend money on forced induction and not yet own a home.

That was my point. If I already had a house, etc. was setup for daily life.......This might be different.

Some mentioned stock levels? This means buy a kit, keep it with in kit specs and get a good tune? This will make my z a daily driver with power. I want 100K plus capability on miles.

get a greddy kit or vortech . tune it to whereas 350 to the wheels and you're all set . just make sure you get fuel return system and a utec . these motors will hold for awhile at those power levels . why don't you give a call around to some respectable vendors on this site. such as forged performance , funtion tunned , ect...

Sell the car. Buy a new Vette. If you still want a truck, then buy the new Tundra- gota love those commercials!

+1 on a good tune and modest FI setup!! These cars are very expensive to mod!! I suggest maybe saving for a stillen or Vortech S/C. Houses too are very expensive, good luck on your decision.

You need more horsepower so you go from a performance sports car to a 4,000 pound pick-up truck. OK by me.

I would go for the house before a SC, T, or TT on a car... It's just not logical to put that much money in when ya don't own a house yet
