Some guy said there was no way an NA Z could beat a GTO. I beg to differ but okay. I HIGHLY doubt anyone would argue that modded NA Z vs a modded NA GTO who would win... thats just so stupid it shouldn't really be a question.

 

Anything can happen on the streets when the driver mod is considered. The one thing that's constant though is the physical capabilities of the vehicle (unless modded).

The LS2GTO can and has done high 12's to low 13's stock. The 350ZHR has done mid to low 13's stock.

Considering equal driver skill, the GTO is a faster car. Just the same as the 350Z is a better handling vehicle. I don't know why that is so hard to accept for some people. The cars were designed around different visions.

 

Well, I've never denied it. I've driven both although it wasn't an LS2... but I can only imagine. Ran the same exact car I drove and lost and I drive better than he does so what does that equate to me. But I would whoop him up in the twisties

How good is the 07 base model? I heard it doesnt come with traction control and is just very plain...those are the ones they are selling by the bundles in the dealer near by for about 28,815 MSRP says the inventory at the Nissan website. Does that include tax?

I dont think its a good idea to have a 306whp/268tq coupe with no traction control...WTF?

 

If it wasnt an LS2, then something must be wrong. Non -LS2 owners, run mid 13's at best, with mph around 102-103.

OK. Now first, you are talking about stock vs stock. Now you are showing modded races/vids. Put a TT Z against a lightly modded GTO and you will probably beat it...Give me a Cobalt SS fully modded, ripped the interior off, turbo it, slick tires, lightweight flywheels, 200 shot of NOS, etc and I can take a GTO too...and maybe the TT too.

The first video you posted was posted by SOLO-350Z already, and I replied saying I had PMed the dude (Go back a few pages to see what he wrote, I did copy & paste). He's selling his/that Z you see in the video and buying a Lotus. He wasnt granny shifting and said he thinks his friend in the GTO wasnt redlining. He is way more modded than his friend.

The second video could be a FI Z plus bolt ons against a stock LS1 for all we know...they dont even show the hood of the GTO to verify. Your point is?

Any Z including the 07 will get owned by a GTO from a roll and decently beated from a dig. A Z will own a GTO in the track...everyone has their perks and you cant have it all. There will always be something better, someone faster, etc, so get over it and accept it. I dont see GTO owners whinning on how they can keep up or beat Z if they do this or that, they just know they arent as fast around the twisties.

 

You sir are a fool to believe the GTO will own a 07 Z especially since a race hasn't happened. They both basically produce the same numbers. The 03-06 Z in that video was pretty much dead even with that GTO in that RACE! The guy was granny shifting. You can see it by the way the car was lurching back and fourth.
