Cool Hello from a new Z owner

Just wanted to say a quick "hi" and to introduce myself to the board.

After lusting over a Z for the better part of the last three months I traded in my 2001 Acura CL Type S for a Chrome Silver Track model yesterday. I drove home with a noticeably lighter wallet but a big grin on my face.

I've been lurking here for a couple months gaining a ton of useful info about peoples' likes and dislikes, purchase prices, mod plans, and more. This site is a great resource.

CheerZ!

Welcome to the track clan...

The CL-S is a nice ride... very refined, very quick... Thou its a cruiser.

Welcome to the family... more importantly, welcome to the heritage.

Evil: you're dead right...the CLS is a fast "cruiser". It's a great car if you want a luxury sports coupe. I spent some serious $$$$ on mods trying to turn it into more sport than luxury but it ultimately left me wanting anyway.

e_j: Thanks for the welcome. We should try to arrange an after-work or weekend meet with other Sactown Z owners. And 251RWH is some serious smack! Did you dyno your car stock? Did you gain more power from the Injen or removal of the pre-silencer?

Mike,

Congratulations!!!

Um you should show the rest of the Sacto 350z guys your backroads. I think they will enjoy them...

Yet another CL-S convert!!!

I am one too...

BTW you need to help the NorCal guys with meets... take a look at their Regional Forum... They don't post often enough. Please show them how to hold a meet. Bring that Sacto Meet energy from the CL-S owner into the Z owners.

Have fun with your car. I'll have brembos again soon on my Z And hopefully I'll be able to keep up with you those Backroads.

Thanks, Dennis!

About the 8: the more I looked at it and read the reviews the more it seemed like too much of a comprimise. The 9,000 RPM redline may have been nice, but the reviews seemed to indicate it was lacking in low-end grunt, which is exactly what the Z has a ton of. It's hard to judge the looks from a picture, but I thought the car looked to long and bulbous. And I really didn't need or want a 2+2.

Can't wait until the next meet!

Jeff, thanks. I'm looking forward to meets with the old CL-S crew as well as with NorCal Z owners. How soon are you getting the Brembo's?

H@mmerm@n,

I can't believe you kept this secret from your brothers, the CL gang.

Warm regards,

As I just posted at ACL.com, I like to make my purchasing decisions without public scrunity and the associated anguish of explaining my rationale. And regardless of what I drive, I am still the slowest of the Sactown twisty crew.

Jeff, I knew it was that crazy Aztec **** before he confessed to it in ACL.com. He has a very recognizable style to his dope-slapping humor.

Hey, Rolie:
