Default Software flash for US to Canada ?

Is there a software change that can be done at the dealer for:
- activating DRL
- changing miles -> kms
- changing F -> C

This is all that needs to be changed to import a car from the US!

I haven't heard of a flash for that, but you might need a different ECU. Call a dealer and see if a reflash/reprogram is an option.

No to everything and then some. Daytime running lights can't just be "activated". They need to be installed by a shop who can pass you. All that is needed is DRL, the rest is just driver preference. You don't need to convert anything to import. No one has been able to change miles to km or temperature. People though, however I heard, have replaced the gauge here in Canada and have fixed the issue. This is probably because everything is done on the device itself much like the cluster works. This leads me to believe the part is different for both US and Canada. Dont quote me on that, the actual car it was done on was a g35 and it changed the temperature to Celsius.

^^ he is right. the DRL has to be installed. I think there was a how-to in the repair area on how to do that, but not sure. and i think it will change the digital as well if you change over the steering wheel instument cluster to one that is set for KM.

I have a reverse situtaton, a Canada Z in US. Went to a dealer in US and asked the same question about an easy change from c to F, km to miles. The answer was no.

I asked this question cause one of my co-workers has imported 2 350Zs and I thought there might be an easier way.

On my car (C-class Mercedes) all of the items above can be set via the diagnostic computer at the dealer. The "country" is changed and all of the settings for that country become active. I was hopng the 350Z/G35 had something similar, since DRL are usually the low beam or parking lights on, and that should just be a software issue.

I guess each ECU is hard-coded for the country it'll be sold in.
