Thats not a Cop thing --Its Human Nature. We all notice bright colors more than dull Colors and if your job is to write tickets, then it stands to reason that a bright color would make a difference

re> "...and if your job is to write tickets..."

But, does that happen before or after the stop?

I think it may be a psycological thing... Does it increase Anger ??? Certain institutions are painted greens and blues to subdue those in them. Some Cops carry a lot of emotional Baggage as do many people

i can also vouch for this urban myth (redline owner). cops will only notice you more easily, not pull you over for that soul reason of color.

I've been driving my redline for a little over a year now and have never been stopped, however I got stopped in my white Integra twice in a year. I think color has nothing to do with it. Think about it, cops use radar to catch speeders. Radar doesnt see color and cops cant see color at night. They see headlights and point the radar/laser at the vehicle.

All Im sayin is, If your sitting in your Squad, bored and seeing the usual Gray,Tan,White,Light blue cars going by and then here comes a Bright Red OR Bright Yellow sports car, its apt to snap you to attention and get you motivated.
Not saying, Its a death warrent

If you sit on the side of the road looking for cars you see the stand out colors. red, yellow, etc. not the not the more bland white, tan, etc. However, a cop IMO is not going to pull you over for your color of car if you are not breaking the law.

well heres the thing, i get stares from cops at my redline all the time but they look as if they admire it more then to pull me over. have a red or yellow car will make you more noticable but does not mean that a cop will more then likely pull you over, you can only get pulled over it you do something to deserve it.

^^ Exactly. Your comments are wise. It isn't the color of your car that gets you into trouble with enforcement; it's your behaviour and the wrong things you do that lead to tickets and arrests. Cops mostly do their job, and that is protecting the lawful majority from the unlawful minority.

Actually, when I'm bored, color has nothing to do with it. I key in on the PoS cars in which the owner hasn't done squat in regards to maintenance/upkeep & cleanliness. Someone who can't take of their vehicle usually doesn't take care of other things in regards to their vehicle & driving status (insurance, registration, license, etc.)

Most of the bright colored vehicles I see are usually rentals (vipers, Ferrari's, etc.) I usually don't mess with them because many of them don't have the skills to drive the vehicles in a manner to get my attention (although their were the 2 Norwegians in the viper who thought it was a good idea to floor it while on a reverse banked curve...)

Its the car not the color. I have owned 4 mustangs 1 pick up and now the Z. I used to get harrassed in the Stang. Pulled over for no reason never got a ticket just waisted my time. Never even looked at in the truck.....other then a stop sing I missed. However in the Z I get mixed reviews. Mine is redline and I have been pulled over once for taking a turn to fast...no ticket just a "how fast were you going?"

I think it depends on the car....plus 350z, Mustangs, z28 and firebirds are seen as "kid cars" more than say a vette or an M3. I guess they don't look at the sticker price on the Zs

Hell ya even older men drive a Z what other car has that hahah but its not that they pull you over cuz your car is red its just the color red attracts eyes towards the car so they see your car over others which makes them realize any law you break

^ Did you break a traffic law each time you got a ticket????? I've had a Redline since August '02 and haven't been stopped once in my Z. Of course I don't break the law often either, but I do have fun in my car.
