My drivers door seems to hate my shins as well.

 

hahaha a couple of these responses are hilarious! the family guy clip is perfect.

I'd still love a cheap pair of check straps to try to mill down the catches and see if they'll hold better. If I can get a pair and get it right, i'd love to do the work for others. its a problem with these cars that isn't being addressed and I can't really afford the part from the dealership new >_<

When it closes on its own after I've already gotten out and I'm walking away I must say it does feel pretty baller.

 

My '06 driver's door does this. Unsure about the passenger side. Every weekend when I back out of the garage into the driveway to wash it, I simply push the door all the way open. It'll hold for about 3 seconds and then start to close. Just enough time to slide out and walk towards the bucket of soap- baller style.

Sucks dealing with this when running fixed back race seats. I have smashed my fingers a few times using my door dill to lift myself in and out if the seat
